Who to take at 7
I have a problem... with the 7th pick, I wasn\'t expecting JVR to be available and had pegged Sam Gagner or Lars Eller as the guy to take. Gane just went at 6 and now JVR is there... the keeper league is a goals oriented league which probably favors JVR but I think Eller will pay off quicker with STL.
Who would you rather have? Eller or JVR...
btw. Maxim Mayorov and Logan Coture are also available...

I would take Eller. He\'s much closer, so if he turns out to be the wrong guy you can act accordingly in a year or two. Whereas if JVR turns out wrong...you won\'t know for four years or more. By then, you just wasted a roster spot for a very very long time.

JVR could be a hell of a player, but 4-7 years is along time to wait.
Think of it this way, if Eller plays in 2 years and JVR in 5. The 3 years of service he provides until JVR plays will out weigh the potential ceiling of JVR.

As for Couture...that\'s a long wait too. Think Setoguchi in terms of wait time. Two years ago, he looked pretty close too. Did not make my \'10 to watch\' list...

Yeahp I\'m in his pool... I ended up trading the pick to Philly (who took JVR) for the 10th overall and 37th pick. I then took Eller. Thanks for your feedback folks... MUCH appreciated!
