max Games played/max innings pitched?

Im confused on how it works, can someone explain it.
like i know once your over that limit you cant start anyone in that position or something...
i feel stupid asking this, but i want to make sure i understand it before the season

When a player plays in a game or pitches in a game, that counts as 1 game. If your max games is 1000 for the OF position and you slot 5 OF, it means you have 995 left for the year.

same thing for innings. each inning (or fraction of an inning) a pitcher completes, starter or reliever, goes towards your max inning total.

ok sweet, thanks guys i get it now
so like for me the max games at lets say 1B is 162, then once my 1st basemen reaches 162 games played then i cant play that position anymore. and it combines the games played if i rotate 1st Basemen.
