Torii Hunter underwent successful surgery Monday to repair a sports hernia on his right side.
"Whatever was wrong in there, it's fixed now," Hunter said. "It already feels great. I'll have six to eight weeks of rehab, starting with some light bike work, cardio and gradually picking up to where I'll be able to work out in mid-January." He's expected to be ready by the start of spring training.

Hunter was on a pretty solid pace through 119 games in '09. If he'd played through 160 (his career high in a season, done twice), he'd have finished with 99 R, 29 HR, 123 RBI and 24 SB to along with a .299 AVG and .366 OBP (the highest of his career). He, along with Abreu, could be a pretty good snag on draft day 2010.
