As Kvh_1fan said, there\'s different factors you have to take into account on whether or not you should\'ve held on to him. If you currently have a staff of Santana, Webb, Halladay and Wainwright, then you can afford to trade him for a piece you lack on your team. However, if your staff consists of Snell, Maholm, Kuroda and Wainwright, then it would\'ve probably been best not to trade him.

It was Wainright and Kouzmanoff for Pierzynski and Hoffman... But I had no Catcher or RP... I\'m guessing I got screwed... what else could I do to improve my team? I\'m kind of new. Hockey is my specialty, but I know a fair bit about baseball. (Don\'t judge me by this trade!)

im assuming this is for the team in your signature then? i wouldn\'t have made that trade, i\'m afraid you got a bit screwed here. Wainwright has some upside as does Kouz and you took on a couple geezers that may not help you much this year and hardly at all down the road.
saves can always be found on the wire, even in a dynasty league. the fact that you have Cordero means that you might have an option for saves there.
Pierz ... i just can\'t stand the guy as a C option and i\'ve got to think that there\'s a FA somewhere that wouldn\'t cost you much.

As Ian said, this trade was a bit lopsided. Hoffman is already injured and who knows how quickly a 40+ year old comes back from injury. Pierzynski is useful, but could also be waiver wire material, depending on how deep your league is.
Wainwright had a down year last year due to injury, but should bounce back nicely.
