What do the Dobber experts think of a trade such as this?

Chris B Young (Ari) + Adrian Cardenas (Oak)

    For

Alcides Escobar (Mil) + Cameron Maybin (Fla)

    Young > Maybin

What I see here is Maybin as a starter to have similar stats accross the board (other than HR and RBI) where Young should hit 15 or so more. Maybin could get some more swipes on the season batting leadoff in Fla. I also see Maybin as potentially stronger than CBYoung in 2 years.

    Escobar > Cardenas

Escobar is likely still a full season away from being considered as a potential starter in Mil. He has fantastic upside for avg. SB\'s etc. to be a solid contributer in fantasy. Though I dont see Alcides as being a stud at SS, I do see him sticking at the position and a far superior prospect than Cardenas who may or may not move off the SS position to a 2B\'er or possibly a light hitting 3B\'er (where he\'d have little value).

I\'m looking to both build for the future (Escobar) without losing much for the present as I hope to finish near the top this season. We dress a SS, 2B and a Middle Infield position so MI\'s carry considerable value.

Do I have this potential offer pegged right? Or am I missing something. Not sure if he\'d go for it but he has offered up Maybin in a previous offer and named CBYoung (along with Snider, Price - who I\'m not willing to deal) as players of interest.

I\'d rather trade Young than Snider and Price. Agree with you on that. I think there is obvious risk in investing in unproven talent by giving proven, but Young is far from a superstar considering his Mike Cameron tendencies at this point. As a result, if you want to plan for now and longterm upside, I\'d go for Escobar and Maybin.
