I don\'t think it is crazy at all. I love Ramirez\'s upside and he will qualify at short and second going foward.
I made a trade and have several people telling me I\'m crazy. I gave Markakis for Alexei Ramirez and Michael Bowden.
I already have BJ Upton, Carlos Quentin, Josh Hamilton and Curtis Granderson in my OF.
I do have Pedroia but can use Ramirez as a MI or put him at SS and try to deal Young.
This is an AL Keeper League.
Did I really do that bad?

Shortstop is very thin in AL right now. It is a fair trade so long as Ramirez moves to short.

Considering you have MI as an additional position, I think you are fine. Who did you have playing there before? I do think Markakis will be a great player when all is said and done, but the jury is still out on Ramirez\'s upside. Based on last season, he could be a star for years to come. A little risky, but positional scarcity says it was worth it.

I had Polanco as my MI, and BJ still qualified as my 2B. I have Young at SS, but am trying to move him before he loses all value. I can do that now that I Ramirez.

Smart to move Young. It would be especially good now if he were to leave hitter-friendly Texas. Losing BJ at 2b hurts so I think investing in MI is important. Smart move.

I think Markakis\' name could\'ve garnered you more in a trade, but the numbers between the two are comparable, considering the Cuban missle has 100 less AB. If you\'re in an OBP league, then Markakis\' numbers are much better than Alexei\'s.
