    Default Myers for Niederreiter?

I just been offered his Tyler Myers for my Nino Niederreiter.

I'm in a points only cap league where d man get 1.5 points for every point scored.

I need to beef up my defence but do I take a chance on Myers considering his hefty raise for next year?

Is there something I'm missing on Nino that he would want him?

    Thoughts?

if it wasn't a cap league i'd say go for it in a second, but Myers isn't providing enough offense for his cap hit. of course nino isn't doing jack either. 5.5 is too pricey for me.

I can certainly understand moving Myers, have you tried to shop him around the league before this trade offer? Don't settle just yet, poke around your league see what else you can muster up in trade talks.

nono is going to be a very go multi cat guy and with myers cap hit id rather have nino.
with that said i think nino is more unproven and shouldnt be worth too much right now.

Nino has done nothing to give me any confidence in his ability to be fantasy-relevant. He's nearing bust territory IMO. How does he play 55 games and register 1 single point?! To put it in perspective, Jody Shelley had 1 point in 30 GP.

Do you use actually salary or cap-hit? .... cause next year his actual salary is 12 million. Even still i think 5.5 million in a cap league can be better spent elsewhere. I would hang onto Nino (he is only 19 after all) and hope he shows some promise in camp or the pre-season and then either ship him off or hold onto him, I dont love his cap-hit either but I prefer it to Myers and I havent given up on him yet.

That's what I'm struggling with. Nino was such a highly touted prospect and he only gets 1 point. it didn't help he was put on the fourth line but man, I could probably get 1 point in 55 games as well!

    WOW 12 million!!!! Thats crazy.

We use actual cap hit so it will be a 5.5 mill hit.

If its cap-hit, I would do this. I'd take Myers assuming you have some cheap players on your team to offset his salary. At actual salary I would steer clear.

just noticed you have lots of guys on entry level contract so your cap hit must be fairly small. I would do this to bolster your D for next year as it is unlikely you could get a FA better than Myers. You can always trade him later if you get tight on cap.
