I would take Dumba everyday in a fantasy league. I think he is the real deal and has more upside then any other d-man in this draft....

A lot of it may depend on which team ends up drafting them. Multi cat scoring leagues will really favor Dumba for his offense and PIM.

This is just not true. While Dumba is a great player, Moose Jaw Warrior Morgan Rielly has the most offensive upside of all defensive prospects in this class.

What exactly is not true.?I feel that Dumba has the most overall upside in the draft and am well aware that Rielly has more OFFENSIVE upside but not nearily as much all round talent imo. Thus making him much less likely to reach said upside as Dumba imo.

The OP was a fantasy related questions, hence the "offensive" references. Also, I am not ready to say that Dumba is significantly better defensively. Both players will need to improve their defensive side of the game.

In fantasy hockey, its worth swinging for the fences and the player with more higher offensive upside is that fence.

You say you'd take Dumba over Rielly because he has better "all-around talent" and "will reach his upside" because of that. If so, isn't Ryan Murray a better choice following that logic?

LOL, reminds me of Larsson vs Murphy last summer. So far Larsson hasnt done all that much. I havent seen enough of Dumba to comment.

I havent seen Dumba play a full game as of yet, only certain highlights shown on the sports channels. Maybe its me, but it seems like everytime they show a Matt Dumba hit, he jumps and leaves his feet. Dont get me wrong, they look like monster hits, but he leaves his feet in the highlights they continually roll on the sports channels. That wont fly in the bigs.

Depends on your strategy - if you want a safe bet on a guy who's almost a lock to be successful in the NHL but has a bit lower upside, take Murray.

Dumba is more of a risk but has a bit higher upside.

A lot depends on where they go - I don't want much to do with Murray if he ends up in CBJ.

If one of them lands in NYI, ANA, or TBL they get a big boost.

Well I personally am prepared to say that Dumba is better defensively then Rielly at this point and will remain so if both reach there potential.

No Murray is not the better choice imo as I feel Dumba is the better player now with more upside and I don't see Murray scoring many points at the NHL level. Could be wrong wouldn't be the first...
