Default Playoff Hockey by the Numbers Part II - Round One Preview

Hey guys, yesterday I threw up a piece breaking down a bunch of different stats and how they do or don't apply to predicting the outcome of playoff series. In today's piece you can find my projections using these numbers with a bunch of my own intuition thrown into play when the numbers were ambiguous.

    Good stuff Steve. Good info.

in regard to the Hawks / Coyotes...

Smith will have to be on his head to pull off a steal of the series. It does worry me quite a bit but Hawks are hungry, as you mention they have the "core" that won a cup before, they have the sandpaper, the grit. I think in a max of 7 game sampling the Hawks will wear them down and move onto the next round.

Well written Steve... I have the exact same picks as you.

Although I wouldn't exactly call Sharks/Hawks victories "upsets"... they're both the favourites in my book.
