Remember when James Neal blocked that shot off his foot back in January? ...and it was originally reported that he was going to be out 4-6 weeks? Well, when I heard he was skating the next morning, I walked... no, ran to my computer and fired off this offer:

    My T.J. Oshie(C/RW) for his James Neal(LW/RW).

He bit on it right away - Before the explaination came out that the x-ray saw an old fracture.

    In: John Tavares
Out: Derick Brassard, Josh Harding, Vlad Tarasenko, Sven Bartschi, Nino Niederreiter, Colby Robak, Dylan McIlrath

The only 2 roster players given up there were Brassard and Harding. Unlimited number of prospects, these guys weren't even in my top 3 prospects at the time (Hall, Seguin, RNH). Meant to be a long term win for the other guy, seems likely to work out for both of us.

    Or better yet...

    In: Eberle, Halak
Out: Plekanec, Luke Adam, Latendresse, Dubnyk

Yikes, I had forgotten about that one.

This one bit me in the ass as the Islanders beat Fleury twice this week 5-3. The real kicker is I have 3 Islanders and got 1 lousy point form those 10 goals. Needless to say my team did not show up this week and it looks like 2nd place for me.

I made a few trades that panned out but my favorite deal was actually a waiver pickup. I was able to snag Adam Henrique off waivers in a 16-team dynasty league so there's slim pickings on the wire and I got a beauty.

H2H league (standard cats) - first year competing in one, drafted Lundquist, Price, & Rinne. Had 3 studs and only really needed one....

Late November (after losing the majority of my first weeks), Ryan Miller went down after the Lucic incident. I ended up trading Carey Price to the Miller owner for Zdeno Chara.

Around the same time, traded Lucic & Souray (sell high), for Eric Staal (buy low) & Edler. Felt some guilt about the trade rape, but this wore off after I won the next 10 or so weeks in a row, moving me from 8th to 2nd place.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keeper League (one in my signature) - no where close to contending

At the trade deadline, gave away Thomas Fleishmann (WW pickup early on in the season)for Dustin Brown & Emerson Etem. Hoping this pays off in a year or 2.

I traded my Girardi, T Ruutu, Pouliot for Shea Weber, Brad Boyes and Thomas Kaberle. I grabbed the best dman in our league (right before he became the second best as Karlsson passed him). He was attempting to make a playoff run. He did not succeed.

I traded my Chris Stewart, Nik Backstrom (the goalie), Holmstrom for Jon Quick, Dale Weise and Ryan O'Byrne. This was in the middle of the season when Quick was dominating and was the only thing keeping LA in the playoff run, and during s Stewart slump. Granted the guy is now in the final, so it wasn't a terrible trade for him.

Trading my Seguin, Burrows, Brian Elliot for a 3rd, Giroux, Anisimov. Not a bad deal for either sad, but I loved adding Giroux as a keeper.

But my two best trades I think were as follows.

At the start of the season I trade my Zibanejad, Okposo and JVR for Cory Schneider, Eberle and a 14th round draft pick.

Schneider went on his little run at the start of the season and I used his value then along with Matt Read and a 4th round draft pick to get Henrik Lundqvist, Kulikov and a 15th round pick.

My Heatley for Kovalchuk. This also helped me out on contracts for upcoming years

Joe Pavelski & Mike Komisarek(contract dump by me) for Grabovski and Erat.

David Backes for 1st & 5th rnd pick. Also opened up years for me to sign Voynov, which is the biggest reason for the trade.

Made 4 trades in my 10 team keeper this season.....not sure how successful any of them were since I finished 2nd after winning last year, but I still like all of them.

    - Carlson and Lehtonen for Weber (league counts hits, I already had Rinne and Price, and picked up Schneider after this deal)
    - Kulemin and Wisniewski for St. Louis (sold the hell out of St. Louis' age)
    - Duchene for Selanne (second year in a row I've made this exact trade, haha)
    - JVR and Harding for Eric Staal (bought on Staal just in time for him to go beastmode)

In my 20 team dynasty, I made some good moves to add to my rebuild.

    - Omark for Lehner and a 3rd (in June, before Omark took a dump all over the season)
    - McKegg for Silfverberg (I like McKegg but it's looking like I got a gem with Silf)
    - Pavelec, Stepan, Read, Josefson, and Diaz for MA Fleury, Siemens, and Wingels (got a true franchise goalie for pretty cheap, and I replenished the depth I lost through some other moves)

The league uses playoffs for the bottom teams to determine draft order for the first 4 picks. My team is in that group so having a stud playoff goalie like Fleury sets me up nicely for Yakupov.
    20 Team Dynasty (points per) - G (25, 50 for defense) A (25) PIM (3) PPP (15) SHP (25) OTG (15) GWG (25) HTr (50) SOW (75) HIT (1) BLK (2) W (50) SHO (100) OTL (10) GA (-15) SV (2) Use actual NHL salary
