sure he has been phenominal since returning (twice). nobody is questioning who is the most skilled/driven player in the nhl. but it's the 102 games missed out of the last 117 that provides sound reasoning for concern.

Actually, the fact Malkin will outscore Crosby by 70 pts this year shows who the winner here should be.

haha most polarizing debate yet! I threw my hat into the Crosby ring. Hardest call yet, but I have a pretty high risk threshold so I'll gamble.

With that logic, people should pick Spezza over Crosby in a keeper. #notgonnahappen #whathaveyoudoneformelatelycrosby

Yeah and Crosby outscored Malkin by 29 points last year while playing 2 games less.

Im hoping that we'll get a recap from the head honcho and Angus once this is all said and done. I can only assume that we will, and that they probably don't want to sway the vote while it's still on.

what Crosby has done lately is why people are back on his band wagon. People are seemingly forgetting (or chosing to ignore) what he has NOT done over the last 1.5 seasons, which is play hockey.

anyway, I've said my peace. I always thought I was a risk taker, but not as much as those willing to take Crosby over Malkin, Ovechkin, and (if he wins this battle), Stamkos too.

I have no doubt Crosby is the best player in the world, but even the best player in the world can't help your fantasy team if he misses a lot of games due to injury.

Default Toughest Ballot I ever Cast.

With his superhuman performance this year, and a shot at being the first multiple Art Ross winner since Jagr did it about a decade ago, Malkin's making a pretty good case for himself. He has such a deadly combination of soft hands, great vision, and quick release shooting that he can dominate opponents in just about any way he chooses.

On the other hand, Crosby finished 30th last year for points and 18th for goals, playing only HALF the season -- I shouldn't need to tell you how absurd that is. Also, he plays the game like a machine; whenever he's decided to work on some aspect of his game, he's basically become the best at it. When he wanted to shoot more and score a few goals, he put up 50. When he wanted to work on faceoffs he went up to 60%. He just doesn't stop getting better, and he's already arguably the best in the game when he's healthy.

Were it not for the recent concerns about his health I think Crosby would take this in a land-slide win, even against this year's clear Art Ross fav. I'm assuming Crosby will come back to form, if only because the game needs him to. In that scenario, he will be the greatest player in the league for another decade.
    The League:
11-teams, pts-only, no positional restrictions, top 12/20 count.
    1 in-season UFA (24+y/o), 3 round entry draft.
Unlimited (24+y/o) off-season UFAs after the entry draft.

    The Show:
Crosby, Malkin, Kopitar, Eberle, Couture, Krejci, Subban, Simmonds, Hedman, Jokinen, Kesler, Barrie, Johansson

    The Farm:
MacKinnon, Toffoli, Bjugstad, Spooner, Zucker, Bjorkstrand, Jaskin

i really don't think there is anything else to say.

Side A thinks Crosby will remain healthy or is, at least, worth the risk.
Side B thinks the risk of reinjury is too great.

    No need for anymore regurgitation.

One good year? He has 106 and 113 point seasons on top of 97 in 68 games this year.
