Adam Larsson

What are your thoughts on Adam Larsson? He seems to have put together a decent rookie season but I am having trouble determining if he will be a #1-2 D first line pp guy in NJ. How do you see his career playing out? Thanks!

I see him developing similarly to how TB is moulding Hedman, on how PHX is moulding OEL.
I wish we could say he develops quick like Karlsson, but Larsson doesnt have the same skating ability and that 1st quick, accurate outlet pass out of their zone.

I dont see him as a pp1 go to guy, yet. NJD pp is focused on the slots where Parise, Elias, Kovy are. I'd give him 2-3 yrs, develop his game. Gain some confidence, build up strength w/ his promising point shot. But for the near future, I see NJD signing veterans to help boost up their blueline. ie. see Zidlicky.

It'll most likely be a few years before we fully see what Larsson can do, but long-term he's a great player to own. I don't know that he'll ever hit 60 points or anything, but a solid 45-50 point d-man who will be a #1 guy for a long time is a nice player to have.
