Seriously they are really ramping up the ads for this show. Here is a pretty cool viral campaign asking people to "Pledge Allegiance" to a house.

Yeah, with the disc sales so high and the hype machine up, this show should have a huge first night rating. I just hope the show lives up to it as it's a bleak series overall. I love it and there's always something that intrigues me. In fact, I can't wait to see the city of the Maesters. That was one of the cooler things in the later books in my mind. It was just so interesting.

I want to see the scene where Dany enters a certain palace and witnesses certain premonitions :P

And I want to see a certain man adorned with bones

Yeah, this is something I've been thinking about. One of the great things about the series is that Martin doesn't treat the readers like idiots, and he drops these little things here and there to make sure that you're paying attention. eg. Who were those two men Arya followed beneath the castle?

The show is going to make some of these things pretty obvious, I think.

Yep there are a TON of things Im looking forward to seeing now that I've been re-reading Clash. I had just forgot so much after going through books 1-5 in between July and October ish.

Im also looking forward to a lot of the scenes from "non POV" that will be added in as I found that they were pretty insightful and necessary in season 1. Obviously we will be seeing a lot more of Robb, Margaery and Renly, and likely Stannis with Melisandre.

I'm with you lockedge. I've been really waiting for that character and that scene. I hope they get both done well. I know where I'm going to watch the show. My bro has HBO so there I will be.

Yeah see that's my fear now. Because Ive read some of the HP and LOTR series before the movies came out and I sometimes found myself disappointed with how they did things. Actually come to think of it, Harry Potter was more just them giving more time to high school romance vs the awesome action sequences, LOTR was pretty much only how they did the dead people.

To be honest....when I read that scene the first time I had nooooo clue what was going on so Im not really sure what to expect.

I just set up a GoT marathon for sunday, watching Ep1-10 of GOT S1 leading up the S2's premiere

Perhaps Season 1 of Sherlock prior to GoT because it's so goddamned awesome(honestly, if any of you haven't watched the series, you must. You really owe it to yourself, if you enjoy mystery and comedy).

Sherlock is quite good. Really glad I found that one.

Yeah, the scene with Dany is quite interesting and well baffling at the same time. I just hope I'm still confused after it ha ha.

For me it's one of the best series I've read. I think it would be between Game of Thrones and the Runelords for me.

It's probably the best written. It's high fantasy in that it's not your typical dungeons and dragon feel.

I'm a fan of all these series though:

    Song of Ice and Fire
Wheel of Time (though it is much too long)
Shannara series by Terry Brooks (more nostalgia than anything)
    Terry Pratchett's Discworld (Hilarious)
Chronicles of Narnia good for children
    Hobbit and LOTR
Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson (he's the one who's finishing up Wheel of time for Robert Jordan)

I know there are more that I've read, but this is what's come off the top of my head.
