please let me know if i\'m asking way too much for kovalchuk.don\'t forget the 2 2nd round picks in 08 and 09 which in our pool are like mid 1st round picks!

Trading Kovie for those players would be like trading Russ Courtnall for John Kordic. DON\'T DO IT!

At the start of every season, there are about 10 players who could realistically be expected to get over 100 points. Kovalchuk, at 25 years old, is one of thos players. I would never trade him so cheaply.

At the very least, get Backstrom, Kopitar and a first round pick for Kovie. I still don\'t love it, but it is within the realm of acceptability.

what\'s the rush in trading kovalchuk?

I saw you had him up in another blockbuster deal. As best ever said he\'s one of the few guys who will consistently perform and he\'s young.

Why not trade some of your older guys and keep kovie? He may be good trade bait but he\'s a YOUNG, PROVEN, commodity, he\'s the type of player you don\'t trade. You hold on to him for the next 10 years.

I know you read my other thread Chief and I got the guy down to Datsuyk, M Richards and Carcillo for Kovie and I think im going to take it.

Just an idea of what hes worth. I\'m maybe overpaying a bit still?
