I think it depends on whether you are rebuilding or going for it now.....otherwise I see the players as equal top outputs, but you get a 1st for losing the production now.
Keeper 20 team league, everything counts:

LW - Ovechkin, Vanek, Lucic, E. Kane
    C - Crosby, H. Sedin, Kesler, Couture
RW - Hossa, Callahan, Nash, Radulov
D - Phaneuf, Kronwall, Goligoski, Wideman, Carlson, Subban
    G - Bryzgalov, Hiller, Schnieder

Id have to disagree...all the players being offered to you have higher top outs than the players you currently have...its a tough call...but Id take it. Kopitar, Backstrom, Radulov, and Turris are all 100+ point potential players...plus you get a 1st rd pick...Zetterberg, Kovulchuk, Staal and Cammalleri are all ppg-95 point potential IMO. I personally think Staal and Cammalleri are overated...anyways, Id take it. But Id understand why you wouldn\'t.

Very good offer, and very hard to decide, but I would make that deal.

Everyone loves Staal, but I am wondering whether he is a young player developing into the 100 pointer that he has already demonstrated himself capable of, or whether he is a 70 - 85 pointer who already had his career year. Until he shows otherwise, I think you have to err on the side of caution and peg Staal for a ppg.

Cammalleri is good, but Kopitar is MUCH better.

Zetterberg is a 90 pointer playing like a 110 pointer. If he does it again next year, THEN I will call him a 110 pointer. Also, he injury prone.

Kovie is a bona fida. 100+ threat every year. You will lose that.

    In return you get:

Backstrom - will at least match Kovies numbers, no doubt.

Radulov - next year 80s, year after 90s and thereafter 100+ - If he ever gets traded to a team that will rely on him as their goto guy, he will hit 100+ that year.

Kopitar - another cant miss. 90, even 100 threeat in the future.

    Turris - good prospect.

In 2008, you will have TWO number 1 draft picks.

If you could win it all this year, you might not want to make this deal. If you do not think you will win it all this year, MAKE THIS DEAL and win it all every year in the future.

If I\'m the guy trading the more established players, I\'d be asking for more. Potential is just that... potential. Would you rather have a 40goal, 90pt player now or a player that may turn into A) a 50g, 115pt player or b) 40g, 90pt player or C) 35g, 80pt player?

For me the answer is always take the known commodity. Propsects are risks and since they are risks, they do not have the same fantasy value of a player that is actually producing the points.

Here\'s how I break down the trade:

    Zetty > Kopitar
    Kovalchuk > Radulov
Staal = Backstrom (right now. potential wise backstrom wins)
Cammalleri > Turris (Turris has not even played an NHL game yet!!!)

    Plus a pick.

This is nowhere near enough for what you are giving up. Think about it. The players you have could not be considered old by any standards.

I would counter this offer asking for quite a lot more. I dont even understand the motivations for considering a deal like this.

    cheers,

    AW

I think the deal could work for you and I underline \'could\' but it is not a deal I would do. I am in line with Wedgy and to some extent Dilly here. I think if you were to move these assets now you should be doing better. Too much \'if\' on the other side.

The GM on the other side of this deal is no bonehead.
