Nash/Mason for Lundqvist/Ballard...

I posted on my league\'s message board that I need a goalie for my playoff preperations (Turco is fine, but Mason is crapping out). This is what someone offered me:

I give: Nash/Mason
I get: Lundqvist/Ballard

I like the idea of getting Lundy, but I think I might be overpaying a bit. Ballard doesn\'t have any points in like the last month. He has solid D-men, so should I ask for one of his other guys that will actually get points? Or should I ask for one of his \"lesser\" wingers? I was thinking one of Boyle, Burns, Enstrom, Stempniak, Lucic. Anybody have suggestions? Here\'s his team:

I\'d probably just drop Hedberg, run with 2 goalies and pick up someone like Hlinka, Bergenheim, Metropolit, Gaustad, MacArthur. I know, not great choices, but it\'s a deep league.

The only problem here is that a few of the other playoff teams recently made total BS trades that boosted their offenses even more than they were all season (Tanguay for Madden, Heatley/Mueller for Kobasew/Roenick), so losing Nash would be rough.

Try to switch Ballard with either Enstrom or Burns. If he accepts that thank your lucky stars you just got a top 3 goaltender. Nash has fizzled out and Mason well he is Mason....That sucks that your league lets up them BS trades.:S

Thanks for the advice man. I\'m pretty much on the same page as you, thinking I \"deserve\" a better D-man than Ballard. Not recommending Boyle, though? Is it because TB is just too weak, or do you honeslty like Enstrom/Burns better?

I wouldn\'t quite say Nash has fizzled out (6 points in last 4 games), but I think you can agree that I need to shore up my goaltending if I want to win.

Anyone else have thoughts?

As far as those BS trades....yea, very lame. I really want to win this one to shove it in the face of the d-bag commish that allowed them (hell, he was the one that got Tanguay for Madden). I\'ve been in 1st all season, so hopefully I can hang on. Needless to say, I won\'t be rejoining this league next season...

I tried Nash/Mason for Lundy/Boyle and got rejected.

I\'m going to counter with Burns instead of Boyle (Enstrom and ATL don\'t have a favorable schedule for fantasy playoffs).

If that gets rejected, should I just accept Ballard and then wait for Boucher to return?

Would Boucher even make the deal worth while for me? As I said, I\'ve been in 1st all year with these goalies, but Mason has never been as shaky as he is now. There are no min starts, so I could just ride Turco, but saves is a category, so having at least 2 starters would be nice...

In a keeper league I\'d stop bitching and just pull the trigger, but it\'s harder to gauge in a 1 year system.

I like Lundqvist better than Mason, but the Preds are playing inspired hockey lately. I think the Rangers will right the ship down the stretch and out-perform NAS.

I also think in a 1 year pool you should try to get a little more than Ballard back...why not try Modin who also has LW eligibility?
