Love the read as always....
However I don't think its quite fair to be ripping kovi after getting 9 points in 3 games.
Tonight was a loaded schedule but thankfully no game started later than 9PM so I will be able to do all of this on one write-up. There was no shortage of candidates on both sides but as I will cover later, goal-scoring totals are way down tonight.
STUDS
Kings of the crease
Tonight's shutout performances (HUGE for head-to-head leagues):
Evgeni Nabokov 45 saves
Ilya Bryzgalov 18 saves (shootout loss)
Martin Brodeur 30 saves
Tomas Vokoun 42 saves
Capital punishment
The Capitals had plenty of goal support tonight to help out their red-hot goaltender. Alexander Ovechkin and Jason Chimera were the catalysts. Ovechkin had two goals on five shots while Chimera had a goal, an assist and eight shots. Ovechkin is a popular dud in my write-ups but this time credit must be given where it is due. Tonight's outing snaps a two-game point-less drought for #8.
David Perron
The Ottawa Senators are on a massive losing streak and tonight the St. Louis Blues added one more to the "L" column. David Perron scored the second and third goals for the Blues in a 3-1 win. He finished plus-2, had a minor penalty and two shots in addition to getting credit for the game-winner.
Honourable mentions
David Savard had a goal and an assist in 16 minutes.
Bitz and pieces: Byron Bitz had a goal and an assist to help all eight poolies out there who have him on their roster.
Radim-ing qualities: Radim Vrbata had a goal (his 25th) and an assist along with five shots.
Duds
Scott Clemmensen
It's a tight playoff race and Clemmensen is usually very reliable. Tonight, not so much. Clemmensen allowed four goals on 24 shots in a 4-0 defeat to the Capitals. The team that wins the Southeast division is the #3 seed and the second-place team falls to ninth. After tonight, it's advantage Washington.
Ilya Kovalchoke
Kovalchuk's Devils picked up the win tonight but the credit does not go to him. He was kept off the score sheet and only had one shot in 25 minutes. People in multi-cat leagues are expecting more out of the Russian sniper.
Mar-SELL Goc
He's been playing well of late, but tonight was not a good one for him. He was minus-3 in 16 minutes.
Dis-honourable mentions
Powe wow: Darroll Powe, along with teammates Devin Setoguchi and Erik Christensen, were each minus-2 and held without a point.
Dwayne Roloson allowed three goals on 20 shots and lost 3-1.
Leht-em-in: Kari Lehtonen allowed four goals on 24 shots in a 4-1 loss to Phoenix.
Goal total for this evening
11 games, 45 total goals = 2.05 goals scored per team.

Good read, with some tongue and cheek humour as I've come to expect! Keep it up.
A big up to Bitz for playing along side a Sedin and briefly with both!

Yeah it's tough to put him there, and if he had a few extra shots on goal I would have for sure given him a free pass. But on this night he contributed next to nothing to his owners in all formats.
Bitz was so unexpected that he had to be there. Anyone who picked him up in a deep league for short-term production is doing backflips right now.
Thanks to everyone for giving this a read!
