If you're looking for a silver lining, it's that the balance issues no longer seem to be a problem. Unfortunately, it seems entirely possible that Crosby won't return before the end of the regular season.

From my Fantrax news feed it also said that he does not have the balance issues anymore but still has some headache symptoms.

"Crosby still hopes to return this season
Sidney Crosby (concussion/neck) is trying to return before the end of the regular season. "I wouldn't be going through all this if I didn't want to play as soon as possible," Crosby said. "That's really all I'm worried about. I'm trying to get back as soon as I can." If the Penguins knew that Crosby wouldn't be back before the end of the regular season, they could put him on the long-term injured reserve list, which would free up cap space as the team approaches the trade deadline, but would make him ineligible to return before the playoffs. Of course, given the nature of a concussion, they have no real way of knowing when Crosby will return."
