Odd article today about Crosby in Pittsburgh paper. If anyone in Pittsburgh (especially some of his own teammates) question his heart, they are fools. He obviously still has effects.

The article made me think of Jonas Hiller's vertigo problem last year.

Sidney Crosby (concussion) took part in Saturday's practice.
After returning to the ice on Friday, Crosby wasn't sure when he would skate again. As it turns out, he didn't have to wait long. This is obviously very encouraging news, but we'd urge against getting too excited. We will monitor this situation closely, but we don't expect him to return anytime soon.

Don't want to be the guy to bring up any conspiratorial posts, but Crosby wasn't wearing a non-contact helmet. We can infer 1 of 2 thoughts from this:

    1. Crosby is clear for contact.
    2. The Pens had a non-contact practice

#2 is true anyway, but Shero said 87 hasn't taken any 'steps' in his recovery, so it's likely we shouldn't read into it..... but i reeeeaaaallly want to read into it.

Sidney Crosby has motion and balance issues
Sidney Crosby (concussion) is expected to see Dr. Ted Carrick this week. Carrick specializes in chiropractic neurology and previously treated Crosby in August. Crosby recently resumed skating and even participated in Saturday's practice, but he's still dealing with motion and balance issues. Carrick might be able to help him as he attempts to recover from those symptoms.

    from twitter:

    pgshelly Shelly Anderson
#Penguins GM Shero says no timetable for Crosby's return to team. May do special balance/motion exercise therapy with Carrick.

The ESPN "spin" from their rotowire source says:

The Pittsburgh GM added that he believes Crosby will return this season and when he does, he won't be going out (missing more time) again.

Now, pardon my skepticism, but... how on earth does he know that?

Maybe it's a quote directly from Crosby masked as an outside source?! (Sarcasm of course)

    via the Pittsburgh Penguins:

Sidney Crosby traveled to California Friday to visit with Dr. Robert S. Bray, a neurological spine doctor as part of his continuing treatment program. Crosby will undergo a series of tests with Dr. Bray.

Crosby has not played since Dec. 5 because of concussion-like symptoms.

Crosby accompanied the Pittsburgh Penguins on their trip to Florida last weekend and skated with his teammates for two days. He then went to visit with Dr. Ted Carrick, a doctor in chiropractic neurology, early this week.

Crosby spent several days with Dr. Carrick in Atlanta, working on motion and balance, and continued skating there while getting treatments.

“Sidney is meeting with some of the top doctors in the country as he continues his recovery,” said Ray Shero, the Penguins’ general manager

Diagnosis and remedy from Doctor me:

You have a headache - similar to that which a guy off the street tends to experience after wearing a helmet too tight for more than 2 hours or jogs a mile... Take two advil and go play hockey.

After a few games, you will notice pains in your feet, hands and shoulders that should take the focus away from the headaches... another week after that, you don't recognize you even have a headache... a week after that, you suddenly have no post concussion symptoms. Amazing...

So sick of this. Excuse me for being a prick.

Does advil take away motion and balance issues while skating too? Because those are the problems Crosby is battling with currently. His headaches are pretty much gone.

I'm no doctor... just wished he'd return, and something doesn't seem right to me.

Something doesn't seem right to Sidney as well. Most likely why he hasn't returned yet. I wouldn't want to be the next Keith Primeau or Chris Pronger if I were him.
