You know he's just going to get hit and leave the ice again. I would actually throw some money down on that if that was a prop bet somewhere. He's going to have the puck in the corner of his own zone, get rid of it, get hit by a forechecker and off to the locker room he goes.
I own him in my league but I am just banking on a resurgence next season (hoping)
Okay, sorry. I won't pick on his groin.
There's always a chance he plays 2 1/2 periods, gets three points and then has a skate cut him on the knee and knock him out for the season.
Or he could try to throw a check, hit a guy awkwardly and then throws his shoulder out.
Or he could try to get back to the bench and then hit a rut in the ice and tear his knee.
He could get a piece of dust in his eye and blind him for three months.
You just never know.

Capitals coach Dale Hunter referred to Mike Green as a game-time decision.
Green has been participating in full practices. He's missed enough time and dealt with enough setbacks this season that we feel obligated to recommend that you temper your expectations. Green is one of the best offensive defenseman in the league when healthy, but the question is if he can stay healthy.

I cannot wait for Green to return so that I can get rid of Wisniewski and his horrible +/-.
He is in
Mike Green is on the active roster for tonight's game vs TBL, which means he has been taken off LTI. Looks like this may be his return.

Crossing fingers he can get through the game without getting hurt.
Lets see if he actually plays the 1st PP. Boudreau wasnt for some bizarre reason.
Even strength, he's paired up with Orlov.
No 1st PP yet.
PP1 for this game:
OV-Johansson-Semin-Brouwer-Wideman
PP2:
Laich-Perreault-Chimera-Carlson-Green
Don't get it. It's not like Washington's powerplay has been spectacular this year and they don't want to mess with it. That once dominant force has been middle of the pack, so you'd think they'd want to throw Green in there to ignite it a bit.
Ya way to go Hunter, that's a good way to use Green's most valuable asset on the 2nd PP with those guys....NOT

They kept his ice time to a minimum. Here's the thing; either he's healthy enough to play or he's not. If he is then use him the way he's supposed to be used. This 2nd pp bullshit is silly.

I don't think there's anything wrong with easing him in the first game or two and allowing him to get his legs and his reads back. He's been on the shelf for a long time and no amount of practice will get you game-ready.
Look for his TOI to increase game by game until he's playing his usual 23 minutes/4 mins PP time each game again.

You can't simulate real-game conditions so you never know if a player is really at 100%. Easing him back in is the way to go in this case.

He wasnt always playing on the top unit in October either. Not sure what the deal is with that. Saw some of the action, he looked tentative out there. At least he didnt get hurt. But you already notice the forwards are changing their style when he has the puck.
