I figure when you think Semin, you should think (right after the obvious jokes) people like Vanek, and that guy that married Carol Alt. He's somewhere between a perimeter scorer and a KHL risk.

He could be a 40 goal scorer on an Ovechkin and Backstrom line (which would signal desperation by the Capitals, and therefore not sustainable), or a slap-happy fighter (he will NEVER live that down) on a lesser line.

I've owned him, and been frustrated. If you decide to own him, it'll be a season-long commitment: you won't be able to bench him, and you'll rue the weeks he's active. But occasionally he'll explode for mega-points. Are you that patient an owner?

Let your competitor own him for a while. Then lowball HIM.

He's a FA pick up. No need for lowballing.

Dropping Montoya with a concussion DTD for Semin seemed pretty obvious.

Traded him for B.Ryan in my Keeper. However, I still have him in my 1yr, hopefully he puts up 50+ points for the rest of the season and heads to KHL ROFL

I'd say the smart money is actually a "hold"......Semin's "high" still isn't liable to bring anyone much of value, if this turnaround is even mildly legit though, his potential likely outweighs what you could get in return.

As nice as this current run is, it's tough to accept it as a indicator of future success....I know if I was dealing for Semin, the amount I'd offer for him, would still be pretty limited.

See what the return is now. Make it seem like you don't really want to give him up when you really do. Mention his hot streak and inexperienced GMs will take the bait.

But with smart GMs, a hold is the option for now.

All depends on the deal, players they have, etc...

Who's on the team you have in mind?

LOL it's funny when you put it that way, but we play in completely different leagues. I play in a ONE YEAR league... you play in a keeper.

In my league, there's only 10 teams... I can pick up and drop Stastny virtually whenever I want... hell he's on the wire as we speak. There's zero risk for me. If I were in your shoes, in a deep keeper league like you're in I'd definitely take Stastny over Semin for so many reasons.
