Malkin and Kolzig for Lundqvist?

This is a potential trade I can offer. Im willing to deal Malkin because I have Toews,Mueller,Boyes,Kopitar, and White as my other centers...

My league is heavy on goalie play and Kolzig is killing me sometimes; I need a top notch goalie. Legace and Labarbera are doing ok, but its coming down the stretch and I need to slip into the playoffs.

Opinions?

With Malkin you should shoot for Luongo, and you probably, with the exception of maybe Luongo, dont need to pad the offer. In fact I would suggest that when trading Malking and Kolzig for Lundqvist you should receive a quality forward in return, at the very least.

Thanks big_dl. I\'ll have to look over his roster and see. Im uneasy about it because Malkin is playing unbelievable right now.. but I think his production will decrease when crosby returns...

Anybody else feel the same way? Would this be a good trade?

I think Malkins improved play will continue even when Crosby comes back - this kid is the real deal. Why not try Mueller or Kopitar plus Kolzig (or any of your goalies for that matter) if you are chasing Lundqvist?
I wouldn\'t deal Malkin unless Crosby or Ovechkin was coming back... or maybe Luongo

Malkin is definately a superstar in the making but if what you say is true about your league\'s heavily weighted scoring on goalie stats, then I would consider the deal (if you\'re challenging for the title this season).

However, I do agree with big_dl in that you should check to see if Luongo etc is available for Malkin before you decide whether to pull the trigger on that deal.

If you\'re not challenging for the title, then I suggest you hold off on the trade and wait to see if one of the front runners runs into injury problems which will allow you the opportunity to get a quality goaltender without giving up Malkin in return.

Thanks all! Having a great goalie with consistent starts is a huge plus in our league. one save counts as .25 compared to one goal as 1.

GA is -1 and a win is 3 (shutout is an additional 5)..

So if a goalie plays 4 times that week... you have a chance at 20 plus points. I dont want to give up Malkin but he\'s a pens fan and I think Malkin is who he wants.

I am one game back from the last playoff spot with 4 matchups to go. Our pot is at 2500 and I\'d love to get in on that!

no way , if it\'s luongo maybe , otherwise use mueleror toews to lure a goalie , bryzgalov would be good , vokum ,that\'s my advice.

I\'m a Lundqvist owner and I would jump at the chance to accept such an offer and get Malkin. Lundqvist hasn\'t been performing that well, so if you\'re serious about such a trade, I\'d be looking to get a decent Forward thrown in together with Lundqvist.
