Exactly this. That's why the decision is bullshit.

He also got an elbow to the head from Krejci. He had a clear bruise in his cheek.

It's obviously a cover up... Balysma is often full of shit (like the time at the start of the season where he said Malkin would be sitting out because of "general soreness"). I'm not saying whether it's concussion related or not, but it's serious enough that they're sitting him out, which to me should be a huge reason for concern if you're an owner. This guy is paid $7M a year... he puts people into seats... if he's feeling 100% fine, there's no way they would sit him out for 2 entire games.

For the past few months I've constantly been preaching that there will be huge risk surrounding owning Crosby - not only immediately after his comeback, but for the rest of his entire career because he's only one hard check away from it being shortened. The science shows those with concussions are 400% more likely to suffer another one. It's mind blowing how many people on the forum were so confident he would be back 100% like superman, posting 2ppg like as if he would just pick up where he left off last season and be the same fearless player in the corner and in front of the net like he once was. That was just wishful thinking.

Crosby did practice today which is good news after taking yesterdays practice off, I don't think they let him on the ice if there was any concern of a concussion. I'm assuming that him seeing Dr. Collins is par for the course this year as a precautionary measure especially after getting roughed up in the game against Boston. Here's hoping to the best outcome!

my problem with this is if he, for example, breaks an ankle or fractures a finger, SOMEHOW that will be linked to his concussion and be deemed a setback, because of conspiracy theorists.

it depends what concussion you have. The doctors said there is not a huge risk of reoccurrence that is any different than any other player.. 400% seems like a-made up number...i for one am a Crosby owner and I am not that fearful of any future concussion.

by the way if you did watch him he has been the same fearless player out there. nothing has changed. Penguins are just being silly. It wasn't really wishful thinking, he has been great on the ice.

    Damn Kunitz.

Mind you if Sid returns and scores 4 in his first game back I won't complain.

400% is a legit number backed by historical data and it has been mentioned many times in hockey discussions re: bergeron, primeau, lindros, etc. It's credible.

I wasn't implying that Crosby... as an athlete and competitor... wouldn't be playing fearless. I don't think he knows any other way to play. All I'm saying is that playing that style has consequences and the risks are amplified when you've suffered a major concussion.

I just think there's too much Crosby kool-aid flowing around on this forum... the debate is not how great of a player he is... he is the best player in the world hands down. I just think people are turning the blind-eye on the obvious risks here... and when people start advising others on this forum to reject amazing offers like Stamkos +++ for Crosby as if it's insulting, it just makes me shake my head.

If I were a Crosby owner, I would definitely be concerned with this most recent event.

FYI, the Pitt Post Gazette beat writer said he did take a concussion test and passed:

    http://twitter.com/pgshelly/statuses/144536969601486848
Sidney Crosby passed imPACT test, which is good but not sure-fire indication that he's not concussed again. Symptoms can be delayed.

I'm not that concerned due to the fact that it's a knee injury
