Multi player trade offer...

I have just been offered Erat, Visnovski, Kairya and Horton for my Selanne, Carle, Stillman and Toews.

Its a points only keeper league and I\'m not crazy about giving up Toews, but the other 3 aren\'t that big of a deal for me. I don\'t think I would protect Erat past this season but I see Visnovski as an upgrade on Carle, Kariya as a more consistent upgrade to Stillman and Horton... well is he in the same league as Toews or do I need to hold out for something better?

Another side note... my pool also counts playoffs, so this year i\'d be giving up on that portion for a long term gain - is it significant enough to help me for the next few years or should I hold onto Toews?

Erat > Selanne: only because u\'ve given up on this year and Selanne will most likely retire. I would try to obtain someone other than Erat because i\'m not a big fan of his injury history. no difference beyond this year as erat will not be kept and selanne will retire.

Kariya >> Stillman: Both are aging but Kariya has been a PPG player since McDonald has arrived and Stillman is playing his normal self minus the injuries since his hot start. +15 Kariya or the next 3 years

This is the part of the trade that is risky.

Toews >> Horton: Horton is starting to become a complete player and he is doing this without Jokinen. He is on pace for 63 pts and has the upside of 85. If trade rumors are true and Jokinen leaves Horton will be the go to guy in FLA and I think with increased ice time he could reach his upside. Toews on the other hand was almost at a PPG pace as a rookie. Playing with Kane this kid will reach the 85+ mark consistently. + 20 Toews for the next 8 years

Although you win this trade the next 3 years, in the long run you give up a solid top 20 player. My strategy is to not try to look to far into the future but win the current year and the year after. That being said I would do the trade if you have a chance to win the next 2 years because of this trade. But it could easily go the other way.

Great breakdown, but what would also really help us is to see who you have on your team currently, perhaps you can afford to part with someone like Toews because of your depth at C. Just makes the analysis a little easier if we know the full story.

These guys aren\'t your typical farm players but they don\'t count against your 7 keepers from one year to the next, so I left them down so I can have a better shot next year as the top 2 teams are REALLY loaded, but starting to age - I am in the 2nd year of building my expansion franchise.

As for depth at Centre... none, as I think Malkin will be considered a LW next year so I may be overloaded there.

Jason going forward I would recomment putting your team and league categories in your signature. It makes it easier for ppl to help you.

with your lack of depth at C I would look to keep Toews.
C is usually the easiest to fill but you are struggling. Sundin is getting toward the end of career and Malkin is definately a LW.

Yea keep Toews you Center is lacking a little bit and too much for the little bit of an upgrade you get at defense. The main part of this trade for you is Visnovsky over Carle. Thats just not a big enough leap for losing Toews.
