Joffrey Lupul, out with a spinal cord contusion, will not be back in the lineup until February 14 at the earliest after a visit to his doctor on Monday morning. Although his MRI was clear, he was ordered not to come back any sooner than that date.
He was hoping to be back as early as Wednesday against Washington, but that will not happen.
“The MRI was clear but the doctor wants to err on the side of caution,” said Lupul of the diagnosis. “I can’t be too upset with that. In the long run it’s probably better to make sure I’m playing for this team in the playoffs and make sure it’s something that doesn’t bother me for the rest of my career.”
