If you ask me, its all about the money.

The passion and want to be in the NHL is for sure there... But with the uncertainty of being successful in the NHL and all, he wants to get the most $$$ as he can.

You tell me AHL $$$ or KHL $$$... I can say that he is impatient, but he did play a fair bit in the AHL in CLB and the management didnt really do much... I guess hes impatient about that...

So instead of developing with chump change in the AHL, he wants to development his strength in the KHL with better $$$ and try again next year in the NHL, with Ottawa... Need to adjust blah blah? yes, but we saw when he was in CLB, he can score. (remember a hat trick in his first game) The guy looks skinny man, he needs to get stronger if he wants to succeed in the NHL, therefore why not do it in the KHL while your getting more money for the year.

Doesnt it make a little sense?

“He wants to go back (to Russia), rather than play in the minors. I totally understand, that’s a financial thing for him and his family. That’s why I’m letting it happen.” - said Murray.

I think Filitov still has a chance next year, pending if he can gain some muscle. It'll be a Turris like issue... great against kids/minors but not strong enough for the NHL.

I say cut you loses and gun for Yakupov or Grigorenko or even Tarasanko.
    Good luck

Are we expecting Filatov to come back for the tail end of the season? Be it in the N/AHL?

That's was mainly because of his personal issues with the head coach. He played one game in the junior league in regular season and scored 1+2 there so he would've been a great addition in that level.

But I agree, that he's done at least in North America. Too difficult personality.

Well "Episode IV: A New Hope" was a dud. Then came "Episode V: The KHL Strikes Back". Maybe "Episode VI: Return of the Filly" is in the works? Who knows.
