No thanks, I prefer to just sign both Suter and Weber

However, if there is absolutely ZERO chance of doing that (which there isn't) I suppose I could settle for that.

But, even then, I prefer to trade Weber for someone better than Ryan

Hahaha.... While I'm sure Burke will send out a feeler, the Leafs aren't landing him. They're holding out for E. Staal . They need a center and won't lose the little chips they have for a winger. I mean they DO have 1-2 in league scoring . I digress.

The rumors are that the NE is very interested. Here's what I got as a guess.

Cammalleri + Weber for Ryan or Stafford + Adam/Ennis for Ryan. He'll be a Sabre or a Hab if he's moved. Remember, you heard it here first!

How about a team like the Sens as a dark horse? They have money to spend and Ryan would be a great wing man for Spezza. Would Cowen, Butler and a pick land Ryan?

Thought about including the Sens. Mainly because Ryan and Spezza would wreak absolute havok together! But I think Anaheim wants depth now with potential. Buffalo IMO can offer by far the best package in the NE........ Unless Boston decides to throw a little Kreijci + Hamilton into the mix! Doubt it though.

Don't think the Sens can outbid the Sabres or Habs at the moment. They can land a Turris, not a Ryan IMO. Who are you thinking Fungchen?

nice! I think the Habs lose giving Gorges in the deal. That guy's just too damn valuable to the Habs and Gill is almost done. Like you Flyers package but I think Simmonds gets thrown in there instead of Bob. Good Sabres package. If the Leafs land him for that, I'd be ecstatic!! But it's not enough and Grabo's a UFA.

How about this... Washington offers Semin, perreault and their 1st! Or Del Zotto and Anisimov. I think the only solid guess here, if he is available, is that he's headed out east. Don't think Anaheim keeps him out west.

IMO that Sens package wouldn't be anywhere near close. But maybe I'm crazy.

Schenn & Kulemin? I think Kulemin would do a bang up job next to Getzlaf or Koivu.

Yeah that sens package is not cutting it.
Leafs one actually solves two weaknesses #2C and D
Flyers it would def be Schenn+ not sure if we would want Bob though.
Don't think the Sabres package is enough either.

Screw you all... on behalf of the Leafs organization, I'm stepping up our offer to:

    Connolly + Gardiner + 3rd round pick in 2012
    for
    Ryan

Is it just me, or are ALL those packages SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Sens package... coincidence?

Sens wouldn't trade Cowen just to get Bobby Ryan. This isn't fantasy hockey.

Lupul + Gardiner for Beauchemin and Ryan lol

I actually dont like Grabo + Schenn for Ryan from the Leafs side. Grabo is going to fetch something fancy at the deadline (1st+, or more likely some decent prospects). Schenn's play has come around, and is on contract for 2 years longer than Ryan.

As amazing as Ryan is supposed to be, he's getting paid over $5mil atm, and is down to Anaheims third line. Taking the risk on the contract is one thing, but giving up big sturdy pieces to take that risk is another.

And I just want to throw this out there.....Getz and Perry are both UFAs after next year, and Selanne SHOULD be done by then too. If they're going to trade away the only longterm piece they have (Ryan), they're going to be looking for 1 of 2 things.
    1) Pieces that'll help convince Getz/Perry that the team is moving in the right direction, so they'll resign
    2) huge picks/prospects, knowing they'll be in last place in 2013.
If Getz/Perry go, Selanne retires and Ryan gets traded (ignoring what they get back for Ryan), their top forward would be Cogliano. Anaheim is in quite the pickle right now, and time will only make that pickle stink worse.

I dont think its unreasonable at all to see both Getzlaf and Perry test free agency, and Anaheim needs to be prepared for the worst.

I figured this was joking, but I still salivated for a moment, not even for fantasy purposes (I don't own Bobby Ryan), but just as a hockey fan. I grew up hating the Penguins, but I think it would be a thing of wonder to watch lines with Sid, Geno, Neal, Staal, Ryan, etc. just buzz around the offensive zone wreaking havoc.
