Elliott over E Johnson

Should I consider dropping E Johnson to pickup Eliott? Niederreiter has a franchise player tag in my league so I can keep him an extra two years so I would prefer not to drop him.

Appreciate advice.

I wouldn't go crazy now. If you want to drop anyone, it would be Girardi or White IMO. I wouldn't start bailing on EJ just yet.

You are probably right. Maybe S Kostitsyn instead of EJ. I am likely crazy but I had good luck last year adding Shattenkirk and I guess I am hoping to have the same again this year.

just want to resurrect this to see if anybodies opinions have changed. Elliott or EJ? This year/points only.

I own both of these guys and love Elliott's upside, but 10 times out of 10 I'm taking EJ over him. Both in one-year and in keeper leagues.

I was also able to grab Elliott to go with EJ, and while EJ has been dang irritating to watch this year from a production standpoint, he's still just 30games into the season and may be figuring it out if the past few games are any indication.

Way too early to move EJ.

I really like Elliott, long term I think he'll put up more points. This year Johnson is probably the better option, although he lost his spot on the PP to Elliott..

He didn't though. EJ has been great lately and he may have turned a corner though O'Brien won't be the best long term partner for him.

Elliot's good but EJ will produce more for now imo.

Elliott and Johnson are exact opposites in term of offensive style - it's like comparing E.Karlsson and S.Weber. EJ will generate points by using his big shot and either beating the goalie clean or having his rebounds pumped in by someone near the crease. Elliott is far more dynamic and creative but he needs to polish his game a bit. Long-term, I think Elliott has the bigger upside because of his style but I still feel if "all goes well" that EJ could end up with similar production to Shea Weber one day.
