Leclaire Injured

Pascal Leclaire has left the game vs. Washington after being steamrolled by Laing/Hedja. He was playing amazing in the game and right after he left Washington scored to tie it up.

I saw this too and was trying to determine what was injured. Looks like it may be a shoulder.

During the 3rd period they gave an update and said it was a neck injury.

Goaltender Pascal Leclaire will miss at least two games after suffering a sprained neck in Tuesday\'s overtime loss to the Washington Capitals, the team announced on Wednesday.

Leclaire already has been ruled out for games Thursday at Phoenix and Friday at San Jose. The team\'s next home game is Sunday against Los Angeles.

\"We\'re hoping (Leclaire) can play on Sunday,\" Columbus coach Ken Hitchcock told the newspaper. \"But we don\'t know. He feels all right, he\'s just really stiff. It\'s a muscle thing. It\'s just a matter of when the muscle calms down enough that he can return to play.\"

This is really bad news for the Jackets if Leclaire is out for any significant time. Columbus is in the middle of their very first playoff berth and they need Leclaire in net if they have any reasonable shot at making it.

There was an article I read before x-mas and Hitchcock said he would play Leclaire every game until the all-star break. We all know that didn\'t happen. Is Leclaire still injured and getting nights off to rest his knee. Kinda like what detroit is doing with Hasek and his groin. Just not sure why Hitchcock would start Norrena even though Leclaire had won the last few games.

As far as I know there hasn\'t been anything wrong with Leclaire\'s knee this season. He had surgey last year and rehabed it this offseason and came into camp 100% healthy and in better shape. He hasn\'t had any problems with it this year to my knowledge.

As for Norrena getting some starts before the break, I think Hitch just wanted to work him into the rotation and give Pascal a little rest. If my memory serves me correct Norrena played in Dallas during the recent road trip which was the first game of a back-to-back.
