    Default Trading tim thomas help

In my fantasy league my offense has been pretty inconsistent. I have been offered the following trade: Tim Thomas (G) and Jussi Jokinen (C/LW) for Nicklas Backstrom (C) and Shane Doan (LW/RW). my worry is that it'll cripple me in nets. this is my current roster:

    C Tomas Plekanec
    C Henrik Sedin
    C/LW Jussi Jokinen
    C/LW Alex Steen
    LW Gabriel Landeskog
    LW/RW Chad LaRose
    RW Martin Erat
    RW/LW Loui Eriksson
    RW/LW Tomas Kopecky
    D/RW Dustin Byfuglien
    D Carlo Colaiacovo
    D Matt Carle
    D Shea Weber
    D Corey Potter
    C Martin Hanzal
    C David Krejci
    C/LW Jamie Benn
    RW Martin Havlat
    IR Ryan Whitney
    IR Tim Connolly
    G Cam Ward
    G Johan Hedberg
    G Josh Harding
    G Tim Thomas

I then have a possible deal in place that would allow me to give Plekanec and possibly Hedberg for Nicklas Backstrom( the goalie)...thoughts? advice?

No this is a brutal deal for Thomas. He is an Elite goalie and if someone wants him they have to give up an elite player....

I think it would be helpful to know a lot more about your league structure but I would be nervous about moving Thomas in most leagues given the importance of goaltending. But Backstrom would certainly help your offense.

I would do the Plekanec deal first and re-evaluate - you would have the Minn handcuff then and you look deep enough at C to lose Plekanec but that doesn't help your offense much, just beefs up a pretty decent goalie set.

14 teams, head to head, scoring: g, a , pts, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, Wins, GAA, SV%, Shutout.

In the end the tradeoff would be a slight downgrade in nets from Thomas to backstrom and a slight upgrade at center from plekanec to backstrom. worth it?

DonĀ“t you consider Nicklas Backstrom (WSH) an elite player?

    I personally like that deal.

Basicially you downgrade from Thomas to the other Backstrom.

Upgrade Jokinen to Doan and make the huge upgrade from Plekanec/Hedberg to Backstrom.

Usually i feel unsure about going for Backstrom the goalie but since you have his handcuff in Harding i kinda like that trade.

Ward will pick up his game again and the Minny goalies will carry you the way.

I do consider Nicklas Backstrom (WSH) an elite player in my opinion that's the only reason id consider this trade. Also the fact that Thomas basically fully splits the starts worries me a bit
