Actually, after another look, it IS worse than Konopka's hit. He hits Alfredsson square in the head, Konopka doesn't hit his guy in the head. Konopka barely even boards the guy.
I will bet you anything that Konopka is not disciplined for his hit and that Wolski WILL be disciplined for his.
and before you call me a homer for that, go read the opinions of Ranger fans and Ranger analysts. They are saying the exact same thing that I am.
Wolski's hit was worse than Konopka's hit IMO. Konopka finished a check and hit a player from the "side" while they were turning into the boards - it was a bodycheck along the boards that ended up a bit worse than intended. Wolski "threw up" his elbow when Alfredsson was floating and had no idea the "hit" was coming. There was no reason at all for Wolski to get the elbow up...and it was at the head.

Not an Alfie investor, nor a Sens fan, but I did watch the game at work here, and it was a dirty hit. Watching it live, and in the replays, it was clear that Wolski stepped towards Alfredsson, and away from the puck. Alfie didn't run into him, as much as Wolski stepped into Daniel with his elbow out. Dirty hit, and he should be suspended (not Konopka), although I think both probably will be.

I've read that Konopka won't be receiving supplemental discipline for his hit, per Isles beat writer Strang.
Wonder how often Wolski will be talked about when hes on a flight to the KHL next June? Not a smart play by Wojtek but it did partially look like he was bracing for a slight collision. He also didn't really look back at Alfy so if he did do it on purpose, he sold it pretty well.
All in all, I think Wolski deserves to get at least a game for this one.

I hate Alfredsson, hate the Sens, but I am hoping that Wolski gets a big a** suspension.
I do not buy any of these guys saying they did not see the othet player, (a la Steckel) and I sure do not like taking advantage of a guy in a vulnerable position. Wolski could have made contact without the elbow and without the full blow to the head.
It is a frustrated player taking it out on another player with no consideration at all.
These are the exact examples of "lack of respect".
This is also a play that could happen every night in the NHL if idiots are not removed form the game.
