In a one year I don't think I would do that. I am not the guy that would know such things, but I assume that once Clemmensen heals, he'll be backing up Theordore and Markstrom will be returned to the AHL wear he can carry the full work load. You know there is a chance the Nabby could be moved, or he could likely find himself starting for the Isles. I am not yet sure Markstrom will be a starter this year.

I'm holding on to Nabby as insurance. He hasn't had a bad season in the NHL in a while. He's trade bait if Montoya fills expectations and a really good option if he doesn't. I have faith that he can have a strong year for some team this year. I wouldn't give up on him yet, despite the lack of ice time. I think it will come.

Here's my take on the situation as a Nabokov and Markstrom owner...

Both goalies are in a three-headed monster situation, but their own personal situations are very different. Based on pure talent alone, Markstrom is definitely the most gifted of the six goalies in question. He is also on the rise and the assumed future of his franchise. If he continues to play like he has in his first three appearances, then there's no way Florida will send him down to the AHL as this will do nothing for his development. As long as he's playing well, they are better off giving him 30-40 starts in the NHL this year to help ease him in to a full-time starter's role in the next year or two.

With Nabokov, the situation is much cloudier, but potentially better in the short term. I'm still not entirely convinced Montoya will keep up his level of play, and if he slips up then Nabokov could take over the starter's role (or at least get in on a healthy time-share). Another possibility is a trade to another team in need of goaltending, but they won't do that until DiPietro is back to full health (read: likely won't happen).

As far as which goalie would I rather have, I would say Markstrom with zero hesitation. I feel they will likely have a similar number of starts this season, but Markstrom's numbers will blow Nabby's out of the water. That's for a one-year league. If this is for a keeper league, then I don't even know why you're asking... either way, I would easily go with Markstrom.
    15 GM Keeper League w/Roto Scoring (G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, HITS | W, GAA, SV%, SHO)
    Start 4 C, 4 LW, 4 RW, 6 D, 2 G (23-man rosters) | Protect 10 players w/a max of 1 goalie

    C - Crosby*, Malkin* (C/R), Tavares*, Giroux* (C/R)
    L - Duchene* (C/L),
    Marleau* (C/L), Galchenyuk (C/L), Ott (C/L), Lee (C/L)
R - Kane* (C/R), St. Louis, Neil, Clutterbuck
D - Yandle*, Carlson*, Gardiner, Gudas, Daley, Bieksa, Schenn

This is a shout out to every single fantasy manager that can pick up Markstrom and keep him in any keeper format, do it now.

My team is in dire situation right now with Price and Halak not playing well forcing me to pick up Elliot. Nabby wasn't getting many starts so i dropped him to pick up Markstrom only to have Nabby start tonight

I am hoping that Halak starts playing well soon so i can drop Elliot and hopefully Nabby is still there for me to pick him back up.

I would drop Parenteau for Markstrom for now and see how the wind blows over the next several weeks.
