I'd say bye bye Fish and Hello PA. Parenteau is helping owners in more than 1 category so far this year.
Hey folks,
Just found out that McDonald was put on the IR today by the Blues. This wouldn't be an issue if I didn't already have Fisher and Crosby filling my IR spots, with Ryan Whitney taking up room on my bench as an IR as well...
Seeing as how McDonald has a concussion history and that the FA is pretty deep, do I drop McDonald in favor of another player?
Things to consider:
- I only have 20 moves per year and have used up 2 already.
- Fisher looks to be out for a little while longer
- Whitney is expected back this week
- I'm behind a bit in PPP, SOG, FW, BLKS
FA's available: David Booth, Marek Zidlicky, Tomas Fleischmann, Sergei Gonchar, Michael Frolik, Peter Mueller, P.A. Parenteau, Greg Zanon, Ladislav Smid, Kyle Quincy, Milan Michalek, etc... and a number of others.
I'm currently looking at Parenteau as an option to help out with all but BLKS. Any recommendations?

You are assuming that once Fisher returns from his injury (shoulder surgery), he will be the same player and produce the same numbers. You should be careful when using past statistics to predict future performance without considering the current situation.
It's not specified, but I assume this is a roto league? Do you have maximum games? How many do you start per position?
I agree, it's a risky business in using past stats but I also believe they are quite telling of output as well.
We have a max game at 90 per position - roto league - 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 1F, 2W, and 6D

Yes, it can be, just making you aware of his current situation and how it make effect his play when returning. But yeah, he's been that type of player in the past so could expect somewhat the same when returning.
That being said, with those options I wouldn't hesitate in dropping McDonald as it's uncertain on when he'll return, and how productive he will be. Since Fisher is already there, might as well keep him to save moves.
Parenteau is a good option and I would probably pick him up for McDonald and ride him while the success lasts.
