Kane and Gagner for Heatley?

I\'d be giving up Heatley to acquire Kane and Gagner (I currently own Hemsky and Penner who Gagner could be centering in the future). It\'s a H2H league with all the usual stats. I have a young team and am looking to be competitive in another year or so.

I know the winner of a trade is whoever walks away with the best player which is Heatley but this is mighty tempting. There\'s also a $50 bonus for whoever owns the Rookie of the Year.

Should I pull the trigger? Am I crazy for even considering this?

i own heatley and would not make that trade. heatley is an elite player and a seperated shoulder is not a severe injury , with the right therapy and healing time he\'ll be back to form , may take some time but that\'s fine.

Although this is a very very good offer and you may regret it in 3 years, right now you gotta keep Heatley, he is a pure monster who guarenetees you 50 goals and 100+ pts year after year, hard to give that up althought the offer is very good.

I personally think you could get better players for heatley...but...50$ if you make the deal...and it\'s not like you\'re getting ripped off....just trading for future value... those 2 are going to be big performers. combined production exceeding alfy next year I would think (if they can avoid a sophmore slump) with both improving even more. I would say kane reaches alfy\'s level before your league is over. So it may not be the best deal now...but in the future I think you\'ll be glad...and you\'re at least not crazy for considering it :P

I think if you have a young team and arent goign to win this year, then this trade will only help make your team better in the future. You are trading 2 future superstars for one and they are both 7 years younger. Yes I agree it would be hard giving up Heatly but if you\'re goign to contend in a few years this will only help that cause.

Getting Kane is a good move. I feel that Heatley should get you more though.

I also have Heatley in a keeper league and I would definitely not trade him for this regardless if you building to win later which is never a guarantee. I personally think Heatley would be a key piece for you later on when you are in contention in winning.

I would. Make your young team even better for your push in a fews. The money would be nice too.

you don\'t trade one of the most consistent proven players in the league. Kane had a hot start but has cooled off lately. I would try to obtain backstrom if you want a young player. I would not bank on a player from edm in a keeper. The best player to own in edm is hemsky and he is like the 10th forward on my keeper. Keep heatley and don\'t make the mistake on picking up potential over a proven superstar.

It depend who else is on your team. $50 is a nice addition to this but Heatley is a top ten player right now. Kane is putting up great numbers but try to get somebody else then Gagner. I think you could get someone else. Oilers are re-building every minute it seems. That\'s my opinion.
