Default Tyler Ennis for Vladimir Tarasenko (Dynasty/Salary League)

The trade on the table is this:

    Tyler Ennis
($0.9m on the books this year, will need an extension at the end of the year for a minimum of $3.4 per year. That number could be higher if he does better this season than he did last)

    for

    Vladimir Tarasenko
($1.5m per year on the books for two more years after this. ie. Signed thru 2013-14 season)

Which player would you rather have on your team moving forward?

Ennis will help out right now, as he's in the NHL. However, he seems to have dropped down the depth charts with the additions the Sabres made, especially V.Leino, plus a healthy D.Roy and the emergence of L.Adam
He's barely getting any powerplay time, which is puzzling.

Tarasenko will be a beast, but will he come to the NHL next year? Or two years? And will he be an impact player right away?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks.

Tyler Ennis. He is already here, and he is more skilled.

Same here... Tarasenko has a ton of upside, but at this point that's all it is. Ennis is playing and producing already and his upside isn't so far off Tarasenko's.

Ennis' upside is higher than Tarasenko's. He is just better offensively IMO

I am a HUGE fan of Ennis but believe Tarasenko has the chance to be the better player offensively. That being said, Ennis is playing in the NHL now (and last year) and that means more. Keep Monsieur Ennis.

Wow tough call, I will go will Tarasenko based on the upside he has. I expect him in the NHL next year. Ennis plays centre and LW, which is precisely the issue here. He's behind Thomas Vanek and likely won't pass him for a while, while at C he's in competition with Roy, Leino, Adam and Gerbe. I don't dislike Ennis, but the depth of the Sabres and the enormous potential of Tarasenko are some of the reasons why I'd rather have Tarasenko.

I would respectfully disagree. I'm a huge Ennis fan, don't get me wrong, but Tarasenko has elite capabilities. I would never draft Tarasenko ahead of Ennis in any situation but I do believe he has that slightly higher upside. Thing is, it wouldn't be by a whole lot and there's no guarantee he'll ever play here, thus is the decision to take ennis. I'd be happy yo be wrong on this one as an Ennis follower and owner in multiple leagues.
