Benn for Schneider

I am in a 16 team roto keeper league that has 19 scoring categories, 14 for skaters, and 5 for goalies. I just took over a team that has a very poor goalie situation (halak, Dipietro, and Gustaffson) Scoring categories for skaters include the basics as well as hits, Majors, FOW, Blocked shots, and Time on Ice.

Short term i feel this trade hurts me as Benn looks to be in line for a breakout season, but long term with the importance of goaltending i feel its a fair trade.

Any suggestions or thoughts on the two players would be appreciated.

Considering the size of the league and the importance of goalies I would agree with you. I am hoping that Schneider will be moved in the off season and Lack will take over caddy duties for Lou. Schneider would be the starter on a good number of teams in the league.

I would trade you schneider for benn in a heartbeat.

Benn should be gold in the roto department this year.
And Schneids is a question mark. He is good but you can only guess about his future.

I don't think this is a good move for you, at all. Until he's a starter, he's a backup. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's true. And when/if he gets moved, what if he plays in Florida? Or Calgary? Or Phoenix?
Also; Consider guys like Bernier, Rask, etc...it goes back to my origial, overly simplistic statement; until you're a starter, you're a backup.
Benn is fantastic and will only get better. I think you should be able to get a much better return for him than Schnieder.

I think you should be able to score a solid starter for Benn. Both guys have excellent long term careers in front of them but Benn is producing regularly right now for the Stars (even though they are a pretty sad team this year), Schnieds is still a back up tender behind Lalongo (as Grapes calls him). He should get 20 starts assuming Lou stays healthy, but your pay off will still be better with Benn.
