    Default Duchene/Dubnyk/2nd FOR Seguin/Vokoun/Neuvirth/15th

I am in year 3 of a massive rebuild in a 10 player keeper 20 team yahoo keeper league. I took over this sad team 3 years ago, and in that 1st draft year I selected Duchene with my first pick, (his rookie year) (remember allot of talent is kept over 10 players each) and now I am wondering if I should be moving him to upgrade in other area's or hold him back and ride the course. Goalies are in big demand in these leagues obviously, and scoring the Caps connection would be solid......Thoughts?

    I TRADE:
    C - M.Duchene (STUD)
G - D.Dubnyk (the future in goal for the Oilers)
    2nd rd pick
Would also have to waive someone, or send him some other player

    I GET:
C - T.Seguin (future stud, who might have a higher ceiling then Duchene?)
    G - T.Vokoun (the present Caps goalie)
    G - M.Neuvirth (the future Caps goalie)
    15th rd pick

    MY TEAM:
    C - P.Datsyuk/M.Duchene/M.Johansson/R.O'Reilly/J.Lindstrom
    LW - Z.Parise/M.Paajarvi/A.Brunette/S.Sullivan/M.Tedenby/K.Clifford
    RW - M.Gaborik/J.Eberle/J.Lupul/N.Niederreiter/M.Read
    D - A.Pietrangelo/N.Kronwall/J.Blum/D.Rundblad/J.Spurgeon/J.Petry/B.Smith
    G - J.Howard/D.Dubnyk/T.Conklin

Wow, you're easily getting the best end of the deal of that one. You trade Duchene for Seguin, which is essentially an even swap (Duchene's better now, Seguin has slightly better upside). Sure, you could argue Duchene is slightly worth more then Seguin, but your robbing him in the second half. Dubnyk is not even guaranteed the starting job, and he's not the goalie of the future anywhere until he shows a lot more then he's shown. In return you get Vokoun and Neuvirth, essentially giving you a stud goalie on a winning team and guaranteeing you have one of the best young goalies in the league in Neuvy. You drop Conklin, and while I don't know the true value of the second round pick, I'd wager it's well worth it to upgrade your goaltending so much.

    Excellent analysis.
Your offense takes a hit for the short term, but everything is better long term. Seguin could take a while considering Kreicji and Bergeron are ahead of him. Unless he sees more time on the wing.
Regardless, if you're willing to take the short term (1-2years) hit to your offense then go for it.

I kind of see it this way too boyz, I agree I think I am getting the better end of the stick, but Dubnyk isn't anything small. I think he will run with the goalie job in OilTown but he isn't even comparable to the duo I am getting from the Caps.
