Great analysis!
Vancouver and the Islander\'s recent losing streak over the last week caused me a lot of heartache from a points perspective.
The current standings are:
1) Repenttokyo - 101.5
2) 87Flyers Misfits - 87
3) Doulos - 86.5
4) Fergie\'s Leafs - 80
5) OrrFan\'s - 77
6) Smoothfun - 75
7) Hockeylifer - 69
8) Hoopej2\'s Grizzlies - 68
9) Dynamo45 - 67.5
10) Zorro - 65.5
11) Loki - 57
12) Pete - 47
13) Burnsy - 29 (Admin and not a part of the pool)
The rosters of the top 4 teams are:
Repenttokyo
C - S Koivu, Datsyuk, Comrie, Cullen, J Staal
LW - Huselius, Semin, Kunitz, Cole, S Kozlov
RW - Clearly, Havlat, Kotalik, Pominville, Lehtonen (IR)
D - Phaneuf, Corvo, Whitney, Ehrhoff, E Johnson, Markov, Ozolinsh
G - Luongo, Dipietro, Labarbara
The only area hes struggling in is goals, but across the board he\'s very strong overall. Great goaltending and very good defense as well. Has lost 6-7 points over the last week or two but is still looking very much like the favorite to win the pool.
87Flyer
C - Legwand, Belanger, O Jokinen, Horton, E Staal, V Kozlov
LW - Booth, Schaefer, Samsonov, Paille, Clowe (Injured), Smyth (IR)
RW - Zherdev, Guerin, Penner, Perry, Lupul (Injured)
D - Ranger, Ballard, Bouwmeester, Timonen, Poti, Redden, Rafalski
G - Giguere, Fleury
Doing very well in the point categories but struggling a lot in goal. Is WAY over in games played (30+) on RW and C and WAY under (30+) in goal and LW.
Doulos
C - Marleau, Parise, O\'Sullivan, Sundin, Langkow
LW - Vanek, Vermette, Avery, Eriksson, Carcillo (IR)
RW - Boyes, Gaborik, Stempniak, Marian Hossa, Recchi
D - Meszaros, Klesla, Coburn, Brewer, Vandermeer, Green, Burns, Bieksa (IR)
G - Harding, Brodeur, Miller
Getting KILLED in plus minus and Assists/Points need a lot of work as well. PIM will be locked up with a healthy Avery and Carcillo (sitting 3rd as it is). Goaltenders providing above average stats.
Fergie
C - Thornton, Fisher, Arnott, M Koivu, Sykora
LW - Kariya, Gagne, Brown, Holmstrom
RW - Setoguchi, Rolston, Alfredsson, Backes
D - Enstrom, Aucoin, Kronwall, Weber, Hamhuis, K Johnsson, Zubov, Boyle (IR)
G - Backstrom, Vokoun, Bryzgalov, Ellis
Sitting at just above average in pretty much every stat. Has games in hand at every spot and could be setup to make a bit of a run at the top 2 with some luck.
Other Notes:
Pete and Loki look like they are going to need to help to avoid being the bottom 2 teams in the league.
Burnsy\'s presence in the league has skewed many of the scores by a a few points, and this will likely need to be examined at the end of the year to be sure that we have an accurate score for each person. Hopefully things won\'t be decided by 1 or 2 points but if the season were to end today Burnsy\'s team would have influenced who made the top 2.
Zorro\'s team is almost the best in the league in the forward categories but his goalie setup (Lehtonen, Toskala, Holmqvist, Fernandez) is really hurting him a lot.
Should be an interesting run for the finish line as a few of the outside teams shoot for the 2nd place spot and as we all chase down Repenttokyo for a chance at the crown!

Nice work doulos! Thanks for the update. Interesting to note that of the top four teams, the only \"big\" name forward is big Joe Thornton. No Crosby, Lecavalier, Kovalchuk, Zetterberg, Iginla or St.Louis???
Good luck the rest of the way guys.

Luongo was my first overall pick as the pool is heavily weighted for goalie stats. There are SO many forwards that a superstar doesn\'t really make much of a dent overall.Nice work doulos! The top 4 players drafted by each of the top 4 teams:
Repenttokyo - Luongo, Whitney, Phaneuf, Datsyuk
87Flyer\'s - Fleury, Giguere, Jokinen, Staal
Doulos - Brodeur, Miller, Vanek, Gaborik
Fergie - Thornton, Backstrom, Aldredsson, Boyle
So all of the top 3 drafted goalies early on. Very interesting I think.
the fat lady is humming but there\'s lots of hockey left!pool on!

Def.- E. Johnson , Gologoski , Suter , Doughty , O.E.L.
G - Scheinder , Dubnyk , Lack
Brodeur and Miller were very solid choices.
Well Miller has certainly not panned out though.
He\'s not terrible either tho - I mean, he\'s at least as good as any other number 1 goalie in the East, excepting Brodeur and Lundy. H\'s not stellar but he is giving you consistent numbers.
Just not the wins. I didn\'t expect the Sabres to be quite as good as last year but they have really stunk it up at times this year.
