He's getting the best player in the deal in Malkin, so I say no.

Well, I'd see what you can generate with just Pavelec and Selanne.
In these types of keepers trading Malkin is a bad idea. You can only keep 7 skaters which makes his status even more valuable.
Halak may be younger than Backstrom, but his numbers haven't been much better over a full season so it's not like you're getting a major upgrade there for the loss of Malkin. Couture is nice and so is Eriksson, but it's just not worth it as you already have a pretty solid team.
I wouldn't do it.

I echo all previous sentiments. Also, if you plan on contending in a couple of years, you need at a start to target a top tier, young Goalie.

Just like your Perry deal, this is no good. With 7 Keepers you need to get one superstar or very close plus another star keeper who would bump your worst keeper..... at the very least.
You also need to remember, his value is at an all time low. He was injured last year, you are new to the league and someone is trying hard to take advantage early.
Be patient, there is not need to ever trad Malkin in a 7 man keeper, but if you do, be patient - wait for him to light it up - and get a massive return.
