The Hockey Sim League was pretty much undecided on it's setup previously, as it was in my mind either NHL current 2011-2012 rosters or complete fantasy teams and fantasy players with a 16 team league to start. The fantasy teams/players got the nod initially due to the lack of updated rosters, but we decided to dig in and update what we had available on our hands.
This is how we ended up with our ratings and rosters:
*Opened most recent sample league from STHS2 website
*Imported missing players from other ratings available on STHS2 website
*Created players not on other ratings based on EHM2007 Lidas 3.2 roster attributes
*Transfered players to their current teams
*Updated salaries from RFA and UFA signings in the 2011-2012 offseason
*Edited all players contracts longer than 5 years to 5 years, HSL maximum contract length
*Removed retired players from DB
*Recently deceased players had RIP next to their names, but was ultimately removed as I believe it would be disrespectull to have these former players rated
*Added 750 prospects to their respective teams
*Assigned correct coaches to their team
*Edited arena capacities to their real life total capacity. The capacity for each level was defined using Gab Dupuis' arenas_capacite.xls file.
OBS: There was some duplicated players due to names like Mike and Michael, Dave, David, etc... Most have been removed, but some may have slipped. As soon as a duplicate is identified, they will be removed.
We will sim around 10 gamedays per week, that should get us through almost 3 whole seasons in a calendar year.
STHS2 will be used for simming,
Web Portal v3.1 will be used for the website.
phpBB 3 will by used as our forum.
