I used to be exclusively a NJ fan, now I'm more of a fan of the game than anything else. My 2nd favorite team(s) are usually whoever the up and coming underdogs are so long as they have a fun brand of hockey. Teams like St. Louis, Minnesota, Arizona, Philly, Islanders, Vegas are currently out for me. I just don't like the kind of hockey they play, although St. Louis might be coming around, we'll see. Arizona, I just don't like period, gag me.

So right now I like to watch Vancouver, Detroit, Ottawa, Anaheim, Dallas and Maybe Buffalo... they're a little too close to home to like them that much though.

Awesome. Love when guys go see NHL games because they love hockey, and not just because their “team” is playing.

By the same token I love watching teams and games where key players are playing - and not only the obvious superstars like McJesus. I mean like a Slavin playing D, or a Ryan O’Reilly on the faceoff dot, or a Pavelski in the slot with his elite deflection skill, or just the overall game that a Bergeron brings (although he probably counts as a superstar too).

Back in my first post starting this thread, it was during a time when I had a quarter share of rangers season tickets with a best bud who is on this forum, Tripel. He is a diehard Canucks fan, but equally a hockey and NHL fan. when it came time to pick the games that we would attend, we would have the pick of the litter because we focused on picking games that involve excellent teams with those kinds of key players on the roster, or sometimes weak teams but who had key players we wanted to watch.

I no longer have those season tickets, but if I did for the upcoming season I’d be focused on the following teams:

    - Sens (focus on Stutzle and Sanderson)
    - Sabres (Thompson and Levi)
    - Canes (love watching Jarvis and aforementioned Slavin, and of course Burns)
    - Wild (watching Spurgeon play D)
    - Canucks (Hughes)
    - Flames (Kadri and Weegar)
    - Winnipeg (love watching Lowry)
    - Columbus (Kent Johnson)
    - Chicago (guess who - yes Bedard but also Jones)

And Habs of course - I’m itching to watch Dach live this year, and the young D.

    Apologies for the digression!

Detroit seems to be getting lots of love.
