Default Which Up-and-coming Goalie Would You Prefer?

How would you rank these goalies with scoring stats being saves (+0.2), goals allowed (-1.0) and shutouts (+1.0) and when do you think each will "arrive" in the NHL?

    Braden Holtby (WSH)
    Mike Murphy (CAR)
    Eddie Lack (VAN)
    Martin Jones (LA)

Holtby's already started to make an impact at the NHL level but Washington has two young promising goalies ahead of him. Murphy, Lack and Jones had a great seasons in the AHL but I think Murphy has less goalie depth to deal with in Carolina.

    All input appreciated!

I think Murphy is your best bet here. Similar to what you said, there is less depth to deal with. That being said, since the three other teams do have such great depth in G, Schneider, Bernier, or Neuvirth/Varlamov are all very nice trade bait. This could easily open up the doors for the likes of Holtby, Lack and Jones.

If that is the case, Holtby will see the most ice time, followed by Lack (now that Vancouver realizes that 65+ games in the regular season won't get you far in the playoff) and lastly Jones.

I would personally grab Holtby, cross my fingers that someone gets dealt out of Washington and ride that train home.

honestly not the person to do this but holtby is the guy to go with. Lack is behind schneider who is behind luongo so the rumors are that schneider will be moved but then that just puts lack in the same position. there might even be more goalies in the mix.

Holtby has the best chance to do anything in the near future.

Jones dont know much about but behind quick and bernier.. good luck getting a starting role in LA for years to come.

Murphy in Car is similar situation. Ward is the goalie for another 10+ years and then you have peters who they werent happy about. So they are going to be dropping peters back to the minors to compete with murphy for a starting role. and they are shopping for a backup. so even more road bloacks for murphy.

    I would rank them

    Holtby
    Lack

    Murphy

    Jones

Will Holtby the only one with a realistic chance at getting a decent number of starts in the next two years. Varlamov is a RFA so watch his situation closely and if he bolts to the KHL, which has been mentioned as a possibility by his agent, then Holtby becomes a very valuable asset. Then as mentioend watch the Schneider situation this summer as apparently Lack is ready to be an NHL backup so the canucks might want to cash in on Schneider after his stellar season this year as the backup. Murphy has Ward and Peters ahead of him and Jones has Bernier and Quick so neither of those guys have a real shot at even backing up in the foreseeable future unless someone ahead of them on the depth chart gets moved

Holtby and Lack are far and away the best options there IMO. Holtby will have an impact sooner as he will likely play with Neuvy next year.
