It is always possible, Casey Jones, that he could take the season off, but not having played since January and only coming back in October puts him at 10 months off almost. That's pretty much an entire year. I would hope it to be enough time for him to fully recover.

Great news. I'm not an owner or anything but I'd like to be able to watch him play for the next 10 years at least.

I think the Pens would be well served to pair Crosby with a bruiser to protect him this year

Oh Crosby was hurt? I hadn’t heard.

(sarcasm – there really should be a font for it)

Great news that he's back on the ice prior to August.

    Minor update:
"Sidney Crosby is continuing with his workouts, according to an executive with Canadian retailer SportChek. "He's still training. We're hoping the best for him. We're still on target and staying with our plan for now," said Mark Hindman, vice president for marketing for the Forzani Group, parent company of SportChek. We haven't heard much regarding his recovery for a little while, so it's good to know that he is proceeding. It will get much more interesting when training camp comes around to see where he is at with his concussion."

Not for nothing, but Josh Rimer (NHL Home Ice Producer on SiriusXM Radio) recently tweeted that:
Also hearing from 3 sources now that Sidney Crosby won't b ready 2 start season. I hope its not true because the NHL needs its best players!

Nothing truly tangible, but likely worth sharing to keep the information flowing.

    Hopefully not true though.

Josh Rimer has reported that Sidney Crosby may not be ready for the start of the season.

Crosby is continuing workouts but is definitely not 100% yet. There has not been much about his recovery process but this does not look good. We will reserve judgment until we receive an official Penguins press report. For now, take this report with a grain of salt.
