i've been offered drew doughty for corey crawford. if i do this trade, i'm left with 2 starters and we start 2 g's weekly (i would have no back up).
we start 4 d's weekly and feel my current d-men are more than sufficient. i could try and move one of my d-men to acquire a starting g, but everyone is holding tight or asking for a lot and there's not much available to pick up...
advice pls...

would help if you listed your scoring formats and the rest of your roster.
i like doughty over crawford. but if your other goalies are injury risks or not workhorse goalies than keeping crawford might be an option. but if your doing weekely then a 3rd starter isnt always needed just get a good backup just incase. or atleast the backups for the starting goalies you have.

Well I am with Newper here - more information would help a lot but in a weekly starts league when you have two solid starters - trading Crawford for Doughty comes very close to a no-brainer.
Unless your other two goalies are Khabibulin and Raycroft, go for it. Doughty won't be that cheap for long and Crawford is not yet an undisputed #1.

I'm gonna agree with A Watch here.
How did you acquire Crawford in the first place? I'm sure that you wouldn't be able to get Doughty with it. Point is, Crawford's value has risen quite a bit in the last year, although he is not a undisputed starter, especially in Chicago. If you are worried about your 3rd goalie you should be able to pick up a solid backup or prospect elsewhere.

sorry.. was confounded of what to do, forgot to mention by others.. i have lundquist and backstrom as my other 2 starters.. enroth, poulin, and markstrom as prospects.. so only really 2 legit starters if i do the deal and backstrom was injured last yr.. kind of worrying if i do the deal leaving myself without a backup..
as for scoring system, goals are worth twice of assists. wins are the same as goals with shutout premium same a power play goal premium...
as for available free agents, there aren't much, most are taken - even leclaire is taken which i don't think i would touch if he were available.. lol..

Ya, I think you have to do this. You have until October to replace what Crawford gives you. You should be able to get something done before October. Getting Doughty is too juicy a thought. You coulda picked up Crawford off the waiver wire this year. Imagine turning a WW pickup into Doughty.... Awesome.
I love taking risky maneuvers like this, especially in the off season.

This isn't a risky move - he starts 2 goalies weekly. Enroth is backing up Miller next season which should translate to almost a quality start per week if one of his starters goes down.
