    Default Roloson or Emery?

Hey guys, looking for advice on whether you roll with Emery or Roloson as your 2nd goalie in a dynasty keeper? Emery looked good but is it only a matter of time before he goes down again? I'm not even convinced Rollie gets the gig in TB next year.

    Thoughts?

Don't see how you can keep a maybe starter in Emery, even if he is healthy, over an almost for sure starter in Rolly.

I guess 28 vs 41 was my biggest issue, plus if Hiller bites it, it seems like Emery would be a sure thing.

Neither goalie has a job for next year at this point, so if you can wait then I think you should.

As far as next year is concerned, I think Roloson will resign with TB and you will get one decent season out of him and then out - 50 starts would be my guess unless they sign an FA and then he becomes a backup I would guess.

Emery? Don't know yet - Hiller and Ellis both have contracts with the Ducks next year. If Hiller is good to go - not sure why they would re-sign Emery. He was decent this season but not without issues regarding mobility so a little risky, but he needs a contract before I would consider him.

Thanks, I went with Rollie, had to pick a goalie now as there's 28 teams so having 2 starters will be a huge plus if it works out that way.

If you don't have to finalize that decision immediately, might want to wait and make sure that Smith doesn't start the next game. There's a situation that could turn around quickly.

Yeah - I own Rollie in a league and damned glad I really don't have to decide on him as a keeper until the end of the summer - absolutely nothing certain here.

Well, I guess worst cae scenario, it was a toss up and I went with the safer bet. I still have a decent shot at a future tender in the prospect draft with Bernier, Schneider, Markstrom and the rest all waiting to be picked.

This from the post game with Boucher:

Lightning coach Guy Boucher said Saturday’s game doesn’t change Roloson’s status.

“We have our No. 1 goaltender,” Boucher said. “He’s taken us to this place right now, and that’s the reason why we’re here. Smitty has been terrific. So whenever it’s time for him to help the team and try to change the momentum around, I don’t hesitate. It was the same in Boston. We put him in. I don’t remember the last bad game he’s played.”

Well, let's hope he doesn't blow another game.

    Yeah.

I dunno - the Lightning shouldn't even be here. Boucher has got some kind of Merlin stick, I am sure.

Tell me we all thought Gagne, Purcell, Bergenheim and Roloson would be carving up opponents as late as May 21st this year. To believe that 4 months ago would be truly 'fantasy' hockey.

Frankly, I am loving every minute of it. They may go down to the Bruins but I think they can go down proud.

I agree in the context of Roloson... I don't know that I'd call the Lightning that (perhaps you weren't). It's always been one of my favorite things about Tim Thomas. Can't help but root for both of those guys.
