Roy hired his old mentor to be the goalie coach, Allaire
http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2...-goalie-coach/
I posted this in another thread, but wanted to include it here as well:
Here are some interesting tidbits from Jan Hejda in a Czech interview:
This is from an article and the tidbits being google translated: http://hokej.idnes.cz/hejdukovo-utrp...202525_nhl_cigHejda on Sacco handling Hejduk:
He had no respect for the players and this was most associated with Milan. I give you an example: We are experienced and able to cope with the fact that we are not in line up. But for Milan to arrive two hours before the game at the stadium and only then to discover he is not playing, it's just silly. Mostly it is done differently: the player will know in the morning in order to arrive at the match, not that he is there for two hours waiting for a start, sitting in the stands and drinking coffee. This is twice as true when it comes to club legend.
On management:
Of course some members (of management) and even Joe Sakic did not agree with it but on the other hand there were several people who stood behind the coach. It was divided into groups.
On coaching change:
Basically I think it was a relief for everyone on the team because it was not working. I do not think I'd find anyone who would not agree with this change. Including me, although I did not have personal problems with the coach.
On Sacco’s system and use of players:
We had poor results also due to inappropriately chosen system. I do not want to say he was a bad coach but Sacco did not take into account the types of players he has. Did not adapt style to them but instead forced them into something that did not fit them. I hope that new coach will understand this.
On Hejduk’s future:
For a long time I persuaded him to give it another try. He said that if they change a coach he will go for another year. Now it only depends on whether he gets a new contract.

" You said you don't give a f*ck about hockey. I've never heard anyone say that before."
Roy and Sakic helped make the Avalanche into a great franchise... and they will do it again.
It seems like they're getting the old crew back together even more than I originally thought - Foote is on board

Tanguay and Hejduk used to play together first with Forsberg then Sakic. I wouldn't be surprised to see MacKinnon centering those two.
Landeskog- Duchene - Parenteau

Seems Stastny is staying?
Will Roy make him a viable points guy again?
Points-only, Full Keeper Dynasty League

I read and can't find the link (think it was on NHL.com but not sure), that Roy is looking at moving O'Reilly to the wing and playing these 3 scoring lines
Parenteau - Duchene - O'Reilly
Landeskog - Stastny - Tanguay
Downie - MacKinnon - McGinn

I don't know if it will be completely attributable to Roy because Stats will be playing with more talent - but I do believe there will be a bounce back for him. To what degree is a hard call - there are only so many pucks that go in the net and this offense looks like it could spread things around some.
I saw these lines as well, and I have a hard time believing that they will actually make it to game one of the season next year, but they're very well balanced... the problem is who's going to get the majority of the defensive zone starts?
MacK will probably be sheltered from that situation, the Stastny line could do it (it's what he did last year and that's one of the reasons why his production suffered), however Tanguay is quite the defensive liability. Having OReilly and Duchene on the ice for ice offs in the D zone would be good to have however it would be preferable to maximize that lines' offensive opportunities to use them more in the offensive zone.
So the way the lines are, it appears as though the D zone starts may be split up, or a couple of options are for O'Reilly to come out and replace Tanguay or MacKinnon on their lines for a D zone faceoff, and switch off once the puck is moved out of the defensive zone.
Stastny's production should go up regardless of his zone start this season as the quality of linemmates has improved from Jones/McGinn/Mitchell last season to Landy/Tanguay/O'Reilly this year.

Im really interested in what this does for Tanguay's value.
I just got offered Tanger for Bickell so any insight into Tanguay's expectations would really be appreciated

I'd do it in a heartbeat if its a points only league. He's gonna be feeding the puck to three top centers. If the guy can get a solid amount of points with no centers in Calgary, think about what he can do with three!
