Weren't San Jose and Chicago #1 and #2 last year?

Should be a good series. My gut says San Jose in 6, but I really do think this could go either way.

I hope this is as good as SJ/DET was. the NSH series was extremely boring, save for Kesler's Messier-like performance (and the play of Pekka Rinne).

I had SJ originally going to the Final....so my pick is...

    SJ in 6

This series will be a lot more reminiscent of the Hawks/Nucks series. The Sedins better pick up their game.

I originally picked a SJ/Boston final, but the Canucks look to be in a good spot here after the Sharks killed themselves going to 7 when their series could have been done in 4...

Still, I'll say SJ in 6

    Cheers.

I had a Bos/Van final, so here's hoping it follows the script.

Vancouver's first practice time in a month gets them through, Van in 7.

Since my Stanley Cup prediction from the start was Boston over Vancouver, then I have to stick with the Canucks.

    Canucks in 7.

I was surprised how often the older, smaller DET team could get SJ running around in their own zone...for long stretches. VAN is younger, faster, and has more finishers than the depleted DET squad iced.

If SJ can play even 2.5 periods of aggressive hockey per game they'll win, but they only looked good for about 1.25 periods per game against DET and I don't see that MO changing.

VAN with the better, more consistent team game in 6.

Van in 4. Maybe 5 if Niemi can steal a game.
The only pairing I can see shutting down Kesler at the moment?
God + a time machine.... and even then maybe not.

Actually I'm waiting to see who flinches first and accuses the other team of diving. I'm hoping for it to be "Lightsabre Joe", just because that would be hilarious.

The last regular season game between these two was fantastically playoff-esque so I have high hopes for an entertaining Canucks win.

That was a brilliant game. Hoping for this series to follow the same theme.

I agree with Loch & bOndon that I'm hoping for a repeat of that match in March.

The science-y folks give this one to the Orcas:

    http://www.wildanimalfightclub.com/l...ler-Whale-Orca

    and this:
    http://great-white-shark.blogspot.co...winner-is.html

"In 1997, several researchers were waiting off of the Farallones, watching a pod of orcas, when one spotted a great white in the distance. “All of the sudden one of the orcas took off,” said Mick Meningoz. “Then there was a flash, and there was the orca, holding the shark in its mouth like a toy,” he said. The orca swam to the side of the boat, held the shark up like a trophy and then let it drop into the water.“It dropped it, and went down and got it, then dropped it again, and went down and got it. That went on for about 20 minutes. The orcas were just playing with it,” Meningoz said. The orcas attacked on October 4.

After that day, there wasn’t another shark sighted at the Farallones for the rest of the season.“The orcas put the fear of God into the sharks, and they left,” said Meningoz.
