Wasn't able to find anything concerning Perron...but I found this article regarding Savard, not sure if it was posted anywhere else.

Things don't look too good...
I have Savard & Perron in my pool... yeah i had a good year...
What do you think will happen with savard & perron?
Will Savard retire? Is Perron gonna be ok for next year?
I tough i would cut Savard next year and keep Perron.
I think Perron will be ok next year, but i wished he played by the end of the season just to make sure... but i dont think it will be the case...
What you guys think, did some of you have some update from these guys?

If it were me I would cut Savard loose and keep Perron without too much hesitation. No one knows what will happen but Savard having serious symptoms so long after the fact leads me to believe he won't be back. And if he is, how will he be changed? Will he be one hard body check from another concussion.
Perron, I believe is his first concussion so I have more faith that he will recover fully.
Outlook for Savard is difinately not promising especially with the memory loss that he is experiencing. Expectations for Perron should also be tempered. Nothing has been leaked on how he's fairing from what I've I've been able to tell. But considering length of absense and the increased caution teams are becoming with the focus on concussions along with the glut of quality prospects in the St Louis system - his Ice time and production will take a dip.

is there any update or progression on perron status?
As much as I love Savard (I own him as well) time to cut your loses. I think even if he came back at this point, he won't be the 90 point player he was.

I had both of them too... I dropped Savard and am holding onto Perron.

Recognizing that even his own doctors have no idea what's in store, the assumption here in the Boston area is that we won't see him back any time soon, if at all. From a fantasy standpoint, LTIR or retirement should have roughly the same impact on your decision... he's likely to just take up space that could be used for better options.
The other thing to keep in mind is that even if he does mount a comeback, it's unlikely to be one worthy of a guy who once had truly elite vision on the ice. He may play again someday, but chances are, it won't be as the player you would want to keep.
No idea about Perron.
T.G.
Good points Thieving. I think that is the real thing to keep in mind. Even if he does return, he is over 30 and heading into his waning years anyway. If you expected a drop off from 80-90 to 60-70, I would imagine it would be even lower after this injury. If he does ever come back, I think a projection of under 50 points would be reasonable. There is really no point in holding on to hope.
I am cutting my loses now with hope of bouncing back after a rebuild.

The trick with owning Savard and Perron is that you gotta like scambled eggs.
Question: Why would the Blues sign both Langenbrunner and Arnott if they expected Perron to play? He isn't working out as far as I know and the season is 3 months away - personally I am inferring that Perron is not close to being ready. I would be looking to move him while folks still think he has value.
great point Shoeless I agree that the Langenbrunner signing shows that he isn't going to be ready.

as for Savard, this is what I found in a search today:
http://www.nesn.com/2011/06/marc-sav...lebration.html
Strickland just made a brief update on the Perron situation
http://www.truehockey.com/articles/B...rron-Next-Week
So essentially we still know absolutely nothing right now, but after next week there should be a more definitive update.Blues fans can expect an update on forward David Perron in the very near future. I'm told GM Doug Armstrong will speak with Perron at some point next week to get a better idea of where he is in his recovery. Perron's availability for training camp should be clearer following the meeting. If Perron shows the necessary level of progress, the Blues will likely map out a plan that hopefully lands their former first round pick back on the ice.
An early August meeting has been arranged for several weeks as Perron continues to recover from a November 4th concussion which led to him missing the Blues final 72 games of the season.
Perron will eventually need to return to St. Louis and pass a number of tests in front of Blues medical personnel before he receives clearance to begin skating.
