Step into the front office Weight. Go back to St. Louis, they could use you.

I've been pondering his retirement for 3 years now....

Yeah, that team has surpassed him and while he is an excellent veteran presence, he should take it to some sort of staff position. I think he may have a lot to impart on younger players, he just can't keep it up on the ice any longer.

You can't teach heart though and let me tell ya, that guy in an EDM jersey. That was heart.

It's true. Kind of weird when more and more of the players you've respected for years start to move on. Seeing Billy Guerin go... that was a real eye opener!

Sakic....Forsberg...Bourque...Sundin.....Kariya (not official, but I think it's coming..)

It really is amazing how time flies. Also, I'm glad to see guys like Toews, Crosby, P.Bergeron.....these guys play with the same kind of heart as the guys on the list above. The kind that bred respect for them as teammates and as players you just had to admire. Sad to see them go but glad there's a changing of the guard somewhat. It's encouraging for the future of the game.

Agreed, and good call on the '01 Avs.

Ray Bourque as a Bruin was the guy who single-handedly got me interested in hockey. When the Avs put Sakic/Forsberg/Hejduk/Blake/Bourque on the power play... chills, man. Chills. Still a big Hejduk/Drury/Tanguay fan because of it. And that Podein/Yelle/Keane line was, in my opinion, as good a checking line as anybody's ever iced.

1612 games. 1579 points. Won his Last Game.

    Chills.

I spent like an hour going back to watch "Mission Accomplished" on youtube before posting. Best sports story ever.
