I should point out that I didn't even read the last two. Wolves of the Calla left me cold and I didn't hear very encouraging things about the last two.

Christine was the first King book I ever read - finished it in a day and a half.

I finished my second read of the Dark Tower a few weeks ago and I still thought it was an incredible story and journey. I do understand how some readers were disappointed with the way the last two or three books went, but of course that's inevitable due to the high expectations we all have of him. I am excited and weary of the impending films - I know it won't compare but if they can follow as closely as possible, it could be incredible.

He's a good actor, but I am not sure if he really looks right (for me). Of course over about 6,000 pages of Roland as the main character, you build up an image of him in your mind...Javier will do a good job I am sure, but my image of Roland is a young Clint Eastwood or Russell Crowe. Tough, weathered, with a deadly stare...

Hope they don't mess it up, and I hope the movies are long (if they did it right, they would do a movie for every one of the 7 books). For the sake of the length of the movie, stuff will have to be cut (especially for The Drawing of the Three and The Waste Lands) - but I hope they effort to preserve the real storyline and include all the major scenes...

Cautiously optimistic about the whole project, anxious to see what it looks like.

Interesting that it was announced as finalised on that site, but not by the moderator (who I believe is his assistant) on the Stephen King message board. Until it's actually finalised, I'll believe it when I see it.

I did know that he was asked. I think he would be pretty good as well.

Ron Howard will begin production on the first film in September. He is also installed to take directorial duties on the first TV series.
    NOW I am getting excited........

The preliminary release date is May 17, 2013.

    17/05/2013.

    1+7+0+5+2+0+1+3 = 19

    I'm not surprised.
